"We should always listen to the minority," said Pielke, who spoke from his office in Boulder. "But it's prudent to take actions that both minimize human effect on the climate and also make ourselves much more resilient." Laughable, people like Gray are banned from their journals. They have become an clique and spend their days developing political strategies to push their leftist cause. Pielke himself is just a barking dog, throwing around science from his dad (a biased climatologist) and turning it into political arguments. Essentially his tactic is to hijack debate from real issues of climate model problems, etc by forcing the other side to argue small issues like whether there were real statisticians reviewing the BS hockey stick. Why does that matter? It's BS. But Pielke is an expert in producing clown statisticians and others to back him up.

"I am not sure that is the main motivation, but it is political and there is a strong mob mentality that pressure scientist to go along with the theory."
This applies to more than the global warming theory.

Great info. So we can expect a few more hot years (~ 4-6) and then a sharp drop in average temps that last about a decade ? That drop may be one of the strongest modern humans have ever seen ? Interesting. I would really like to see radiation output of the sun in more accurate terms. Watts/m2 is fine to get the overall intensity, but so many things are affected by specific areas of the spectrum. We really should be monitoring UVC, UVB, UVA, Visible and Infrared radiation separately (thanks for noting the difference in gamma ray radiation which is important for astronauts). In regards to the ozone layer, we really need to know the separate UV-C and UV-B spectral output trends. In regards to warming, we really need to know the infrared trends. Infrared is more relevant to surface heat then visible light for various reasons.

That is a pretty unfair description of Pielke, who seems to be trying to see that all sides of this debate are heard.

Well, that does it. Bill Gray is no longer an "expert."
I predict that the media will be referring to Gray as the meteorologist who has had a bad record of late.

I know many like him.
Either you tow the party line or you get shut out.

Its even better if those actions youre taking make sense for other reasons, like getting off Middle Eastern oil or saving money.
Well said.

Children today are growing up as sluts and slackers ,why bother wasting time in raising them correctly.

"But its prudent to take actions that both minimize human effect on the climate and also make ourselves much more resilient."
Buried in the environmentalist ideology is the unchallenged notion that there is a benign ideal thing called "NATURE" and anything that man does is bad.
Climate change is bad, the status quo is good. I consider it a religious cult more than anything else. Gaia knows best.
To: DaveTesla
Useful chart... it shows that there is a cycle of ~11yrs due to sunspot variation, and includes the general increase caused by orbital variance.

Global Warming is short for what they really mean "Human Caused Global Warming".
They intentionally leave off the former portion because NOBODY argues that the globe is not getting warmer, so it dissuades disagreement and creates confusion when those of us who realize it is not human caused, make that point.
