I have voted Republican since 1984, but I consider myself at various times, a conservative, classical economic liberal, libertarian, and neo-conservative. These folks are simply touchy-feely liberals. They may have voted for a Republican at one point or another, but that is meaningless.
Remember, Diane Sawyer worked along side Ben Stein in the Nixon White House. They gave IQ tests to decide hiring, but averaged Ben's (150)with Diane's (80) to come up with an acceptable average of 115 (somewhat higher than the 2 geniuses Gore and Kerry).
