I haven't read this entire thread so I will apologize in advance if this question has already been answered. Is it normal for no applause during a speech at the UN, or are the delegates being especially rude to the President?

Well I've rarely watched/listened to U.N. speeches but I do recall a couple Clinton gave that got no applause, so I don't think it's unusual. I'm sure if clapping was the norm, Bush still would have gotten NONE today though. But mostly, I think it's the norm. I could be wrong though. On my list of things to do with time, watching/listening to U.N. addresses is somewhere down below watching paint dry and receiving a coffee enema.
