Well I've rarely watched/listened to U.N. speeches but I do recall a couple Clinton gave that got no applause, so I don't think it's unusual. I'm sure if clapping was the norm, Bush still would have gotten NONE today though. But mostly, I think it's the norm. I could be wrong though. On my list of things to do with time, watching/listening to U.N. addresses is somewhere down below watching paint dry and receiving a coffee enema.

I have heard from other Freepers that it is normal to wait for the end of the speech. Coffee enema? LOL!

Can someone PLEASE supply me with the radio link to Rush! Ugh, something funny is going on with our radio station! They cut off Rush and started playing some stupid song from the 60's called I can see for miles and something about you lied to me...WHAT THE HECK?!!
