Another example of why letting the Democrats ever again controll any portion of the Federal Goverment is insanely risky. The notion that once in they would easily be routed out of power again is nonsense.

Secret plan alleged on campaign financing Sacramento Bee ^ | 9/19/6 | Jim Sanders
Posted on 09/19/2006 9:54:35 AM CDT by SmithL
A California Nurses Association publication indicates the group is pushing the Proposition 89 campaign-finance measure as a Trojan horse to get what it covets most: universal health care, opponents said Monday.
Allan Zaremberg, president of the California Chamber of Commerce, said the strategy basically was spelled out in a document that appeared on the nurses association Web site.
"They have a two-step process here," he said. "One is to eliminate the ability of business to communicate with the voters. The second step is to have government-run health care on the next ballot ... and deny voters the ability to hear the other side."
Proposition 89 would allow public financing of campaigns for state offices, an overhaul touted as a way to discourage undue influence by well-heeled special interests.
The measure, crafted by the CNA, is on the Nov. 7 ballot.
Chuck Idelson, spokesman for both the CNA and the Yes on Proposition 89 campaign, said the nurses group has supported universal health care for many years but that the campaign-finance initiative is not specifically linked to that goal.
Universal health care is a bitterly controversial concept to replace California's system of private health insurance with a state-run system to provide medical care to every resident.

Doesn't matter, he's seen the damage hand guns do. But thanks for the correction, I knew that but did not state it correctly. I have grown up and lived in big cities and it is never not an issue.

Wonderful....they have created a NEW job for him...so he can go all around the world and continue to propagandize against the USA??
What is he going to do...try for a coup d'etat by long distance???
What an embarassment our Dem ex-POTUS' are---they should do as Ford has done...retire.
This is just NOT a good precedent that they are starting...but, I have NO DOUBT that once Pres. Bush is out of office, you will NOT find him going around the world putting the USA in further danger by critisizing the POTUS/CIC AND MILITARY!!!

Do you know if this letter is from the first time they were to vote, or a more recent letter? I think this was before Bush appointed him due to the backlash from RINOs like Chafee and the Dems. He's such a contemptible b@stard!

Well, this is just my opinion I have no basis in fact, but I really think that the whole "he was distracted by Monica" thing is mythology. Not perpetrated by the Clinton spin machine, but it's better then the truth. The "distracted by the Monica thing" could well have been started by the Clinton spin machine. Democrat spin would be Conservatives caused the distraction by dragging him in to court over "just sex"

Rudy's divorce was final four years ago. Bickering about abortion is not going to mean a thing if the terrorists can walk into a mall and blow everyone up.

"As for gun control, I have never known of a big city prosecutor who would not like to see guns controlled."
It's kind of like network admins who restrict everything. WHo cares about personal liberties as long as it makes their job easier.
I know a man who is now a defense attourney but was a Maryland District Attourney, and he was and is pro-gun, but he was a state trooper before that, and many law enforcement people are pro-2nd ammendment.

Hand guns do no damage. Rifles do no damage. Shotguns do no damage. Some of the people that use them may however.

Former President Jimmy Carter, convinced the November election carries ''momentous historical importance'' to the U.S. image abroad, is urging Americans overseas to cast their ballots. Exceptions to include: The United States Military stationed overseas...

To tell ya the truth, The guy wasn't exactly a household name. The whole thing might have been over in a day or two.

I have no problem with questions or rumors. I am distressed by this habit of every claim or accusation being reported as "Fact".
Our enemies know this habit so they run around plant these fraudulent stories. Like Rush calls them, they Drive up, spray the target and roar off. MAYBE we should be careful in letting them manipulate us.
Go reread the thread. People were all convinced by the rumors. I am merely suggest people might want to actually wait and see what is actually confirmed rather then stampede at the 1st rumor that floats around.
I would have no problem if "Well this is being reported at such and such" or "such and such is reporting...." That is never how these are presented. They are always presented as "These Republicans are doing this to us..."
Later we usually find out the 1st claims were partly, mostly or totally false. So by all means write your Senators and pressure them on it. I send 5 emails a day to 5 different Senators on this. But you have a better chance of being effective if you are clam and politie rather then lighting them up for something that may, or may not, be true.
