Another example of why letting the Democrats ever again controll any portion of the Federal Goverment is insanely risky. The notion that once in they would easily be routed out of power again is nonsense.

A California Nurses Association publication indicates the group is pushing the Proposition 89 campaign-finance measure as a Trojan horse to get what it covets most: universal health care, opponents said Monday.
Allan Zaremberg, president of the California Chamber of Commerce, said the strategy basically was spelled out in a document that appeared on the nurses association Web site.
"They have a two-step process here," he said. "One is to eliminate the ability of business to communicate with the voters. The second step is to have government-run health care on the next ballot ... and deny voters the ability to hear the other side."
Proposition 89 would allow public financing of campaigns for state offices, an overhaul touted as a way to discourage undue influence by well-heeled special interests.
The measure, crafted by the CNA, is on the Nov. 7 ballot.
Chuck Idelson, spokesman for both the CNA and the Yes on Proposition 89 campaign, said the nurses group has supported universal health care for many years but that the campaign-finance initiative is not specifically linked to that goal.
Universal health care is a bitterly controversial concept to replace California's system of private health insurance with a state-run system to provide medical care to every resident.

He did the drag bit at the annual press dinner in which the city administration provides the comedic entertainment for the press. It got so much hoop-la, that when he went on SNL, he did it again. As I said a few weeks ago, I'm glad there are no pictures of my girl friend and I when we went to a Holloween party as Raggedy Ann and Andy with the roles reversed or there atre those on this forum who would brand me as a gay, cross dressing drag queen.

NEW YORK - The Pentagon said on Monday that an Iraqi photographer working for The Associated Press and held by the U.S. military since April was considered a security threat with "strong ties to known insurgents." Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said there was sufficient evidence to justify the continued detention of Bilal Hussein, 35, who AP said was taken into U.S. military custody on April 12...
I could, but it is not wortht he effort to find the facts for you as they have been presented many times.
On the economic liberalism, Rudy is for higher taxes.
On the social liberalism, he supports the gay lifestyle. He is pro-abortion. He does not demonstrate family values in his own life.
On the Constitutional liberalism, he is pro gun-control.
THe only thing he is conservative on is his anti-terrorist stance, which my fear is that it is just slight of totalitarianism. When he cleaned up NYC's crime, it took a near martial law to keep that city from turning into Snake Pliskin's playground.
Clinton is basically a neurotic narcissist who is also a coward. He would never pull the trigger on bin Laden because if he did, the NYT et al, would have not liked him anymore and he would not be able to handle it. Clinton is a very psychologically troubled man.
Sorry but until some credible corroboration comes out people should take this with a huge grain of salt. A statement by one of the RINOS would credible but not this unverified, anonymous claim in the Congress's propaganda rag.
This just smells like more disinformation and propaganda from the McCain camp trying to make their position look more credible.
Are you two arguing again?? Can't leave you alone for a minute! You are both grounded!!
I don't like Chaffee either, but he does provide one (if only one) asset--the R after his name. That counts toward Republican control of committees, which is vital. If the Dems win control of the House, hence the committees, they'll move to impeach President Bush and abandon the war. We can't let that happen, so even though it invokes my gag reflex, I have to hope he's re-elected.
First came Sen. George Allen's Macaca Moment. Then we learned of challenger Jim Webb's thoughts on the "horny" women of the Naval Academy. Now, just when you thought Virginia's U.S. Senate race couldn't get any weirder, the Jews of Tunis are making a cameo. At a debate...WUSA-TV's Peggy Fox asked Allen, the tobacco-chewing, cowboy-boot-wearing son of a pro football coach, if his Tunisian-born mother has Jewish blood.
Just back from the UN... what did I miss?
Wow, you have Ann's complete focus. That is impressive.
He did? Didn't he vote against Alito? I must be confused (not uncommon for me).
Since when is 5 seats in the US Senate a "narrow" margin?
You missed some Bush whoop-@$$! :)
Actually it will -- it won't change the way he votes on each issue, but it will change how that Committees are made up, and what the floor rules will be.
You missed the body shots.
IMO, calling any candidate, OTHER THAN MCCAIN, derogatory names, such as RINO is counter productive.
We can dislike people on our side, but it is best to bash on freepmail, not out here where it gives aid and comfort to the enemy.
You are sounding childish with your.....she started it! LOL....sheesh.
I used to hear that from some of my kids.......she started it when she hit me back.
I misunderstood. You missed some Rush whoop-@$!
That is the BAD NEWS..
The House committee had already voted for Bush's program and voted for it overwhelmingly....
They were supposed to take it to the House floor and get the whole House to vote on it this week...but, it was a HUGE vote for Bush's progam.
Well...I heard yesterday, that NOW the House Reps are backing off..and have sent the bill back to the House Judiciary Committee for further deliberations..and that there may NOT be a vote at all until "maybe" NEXT week, which is the last week before the break for the elections.
IOW...someone SPOOKED the House GOP who WERE all lined up on Bush's side.
Don't know who or why...but, it NOW puts McCain and Stooges in better shape in the Senate...
Read it and weep gang.
Really? What if we lose the Senate? That puts Rockefeller back in charge of the Intelligence Committee and Leahy back in charge of the Judiciary.
You are SO right about Frum...I don't put much stock in anything he says or writes.
It says a lot that he is on MSNBC all of the time.
