According to an AP story tonight, so are a growing number of House Republicans. I've always been a Republican because I consider it the party with conscience., That's why it's pro-life. And that's why, in the end, it's not going to be pro-torture. The party of Lincoln, TR, Eisenhower and Reagan has too much conscience in its genetic code.
You want to read what Olbemann said ...here ya go: (I couldnt get through it)

Let me guess: "a growing number" means it went from three to four (thanks to Rohypnol).
If by "Republicans" you are refering to the likes of Heather Wilson? I didn't read the story but I suspect she's in the number you are quoting.
That particular Republican is in a tough re-election race leaning liberal. There are no "growing number"s of House Republicans on your side. There are only a few desperate politicians in liberal districts up for re-election. Seeking acceptance of your position by citing politicians dependent on Liberal votes, liberals that have proven they are irresponsible with our national security, does not a credible argument make.
The truth of the matter is that politicians like McCain don't give a damn about our security or protecting the terrorists that so concern you...they simply don't want to craft legislation they'll be on record with in event of a terrorist act or election cycle. In short, these politicians you admire are cowards.
They overplayed their hand this time, and I suspect what we'll discover is that the W.H. is sending "new" legislation basically to cover their hides.
TR got Hearst to "yellow Journalism" us into a stupid war, that there was NO reason to fight. Teddy thoroughly enjoyed playing ROUGHRIDER and had his uniform made by Brooks Brothers; IIRC.....it could have been the original Abacrombie&Fitch.
And there was NO war to fight, when Teddy was president.
If you think that Ike wouldn't have allowed torture on an enemy combatant, during WW II, you're nuts. Oh and BTW, there were NO wars during Ike's presidency.
Reagan?
You obviously don't even know recent history; let alone what occurred in the last century.
