Jimmuh Carter, THE worst ex-president who has EVER lived. He did a lot of terrible things during his 4 short years as president, but far WORSE things afterwards.

Stiff upper lip, chin up, chest out and go work your heart out, for whoever the GOP presidential candidate is in '08....unless McLame somehow pulls it out.

Work to get the GOPer elected as though your life depends on it.....IT DOES!

"They have redefined torture to make it convenient for them," Carter said of the Bush administration in an interview with Reuters.

AND Carter must redefine Pro-American so he can include himself.  Why doesn't that idiot just stick to building houses.  Hasn't he created enough crisis for this country.

The only good thing about the '08 elections is that they're still 2 years away and plenty of time to come up with a candidate other than McCain.

Re the GOP, unless there is someone, WITH TOP SENORITY waiting in the wings, such as Bob Dole, everyone named early, is NOT the one who is going to be the candidate.

McQueeg is hated by his peers and they "owe" him NOTHING.

I know that some people here are afraid that McLame is going to get the nod. Please keep in mind the following....

McLame is older than Reagan was, when he won the primary and then the presidency.

He had reoccurring skin cancer.

Senators almost NEVER win the presidency.

McQueeg has a SEVERE anger management problem.

Most, if not ALL of us hate him from the last time he ran, loathe him for the damned CFR, are repelled by his gang of 14 maneuvers, and on and on and on and on!

People love to talk about how "bad" Giullian is ( which he isn't, when compared to the rest of the bunch ); however, if you want to talk about "BAGGAGE", John McCain has trunk loads! McQueeg would never have been a Navy flier, if his father and grandfather hadn't been admirals. He'd already crashed four or five planes before he crashed in Nam.

War hero? Nope. Yes, he was a POW, but not all POWS are war heroes.

He ditched his first wife, who had stood by him and fought for his release, while he was at the Hanoi Hilton. He married a younger richer version and that's the only way he ever won those early election. Well, his father-in-law, who was mobbed up, helped too.

There's lots and lost and LOTS on this slimeball and FREEPERS have it all neatly filed away......and WE play hardball.

Warner may or may not be an idiot, but I am ashamed he is my senator.

He promised he'd vote for Bork, then reneged.

He joined the Gang of 14.

He recruited Marshall Coleman to run as an independent to assure Ollie North's loss in '94.

I wouldn't tear up the medal, either, I'd flush it.

The Geneva Conventions were written AFTER WWII in which our enemies were somewhat civilized (Germany, Italy....much less so Japan). They had an army, in uniform, that was recognizable on the battlefield.

Times have changed, and you liberals refuse to see that.

Our new enemy thinks nothing of cutting off the heads of infidels (which includes our soldiers) and scoffs at the notion of "rules of engagement" and proper treatment of prisoners of war.

Its obscenely obvious that we need updated rules if we are to succeed in winning this war.

Even liberals want America to win, don't they?

And I hope I got it right. McCain wants the Presidency in 2008. In order to get it, he is cynically manipulating the treatment of terrorists, so that we cannot effectively interrogate them. Later, when something drastic happens, McCain will come to the rescue and use the incident to gain the Presidency in 2008. That is what I thought Rush was saying, and frankly, if this is what McCain is doing, it is ghastly!

Totally in character for him, though...

Am I hyperventilating here?

No, you're not...

I am very angry with McCain, Graham, and Warner, regarding their position on prisoner interrogations.

Some of our young soldiers were captured, beheaded, mutilated, and booby trapped in Baghdad. I need to understand how the Geneva Convention protected their young lives and their human rights. What friggin lawyer was there standing up and saying " oooh no, you should not do that"? Who was there for our soldiers, protecting their basic human rights while they were being tortured and defiled? Would they or their families be comforted by this McCain, Graham, Warner crap? I don't think so.

How did the Geneva Convention help our contractors in Baghdad when they were shot, mutilated, burned and hung from a bridge?

How did the Geneva Convention help our soldiers in Somalia when they were shot down, dragged through the streets and mutilated?

How did the Geneva Convention help our Marines in Beirut in 1983 when they were blown to bits as they slept?

Obviously, McCain, et al believe they are immune from criticism because they are "soldiers" and have fought in past wars. God Bless them for their service. However, even more obvious, they have not fought "this enemy" in the GWOT on the streets of Baghdad or the north country of Afghanistan.

p.s. forget about McCain as President - he will not even get throught the Arizona primary.

Maybe we never did the kind of treatment of prisoners, before, that's happening now? I'm not sure that's progress.

The folks we at war with now, are more akin to pirates (ie, enemies of the human race, as a whole), than they are even to the odious Nazis and Bushido imperialists of WW II. They are accorded *absolutely no protection* under the Geneva Conventions, and rightfully deserve none. There is no real comparison in our nation's history, but plenty in world history. They act like the pirates of old "at war with the world", and should be treated in the same way, stamped out ruthlessly, whenever, wherever they may be found...

I can call Einstein stupid. Doesn't make him dumb, or me smart.

None of Einstein's ideas led to the weakening of America, either.

The Geneva Conventions were written AFTER WWII in which our enemies were somewhat civilized ""

The latest version was; the earlier version dates from the 1920s. that's the version that was in force during WWII. We didn't torture Jap or Kraut prisoners - even though Japs were thought to be plotting sabotage in Calif.
