Why is the New York GOP Turning its back on John Faso?
JulieJ

The Powers that Be wisely decided to dump William Weld, the former liberal governor of Massachusetts, in favor of John Faso, conservative Republican. Now they have turned their backs on him giving a pass to Eliot Spitzer, who wants to run for president one day.

I can remember in 2002, when Jerry Cronin ran for governor for the NYS Right-to-Life Party, he said that Spitzer tried to close down a pregnancy crisis center that Cronin ran, claiming that it was misleading women, even though the center's phone number included BABY in the phone number, and other things that showed that the center was to help women choose life. A pro-life attorney helped Jerry Cronin for free, so the center he ran was saved, despite Spitzer's bully tactics.

Alicia Colon also wrote about this in Friday's New York Sun. Spitzer and Patterson are in the sack with NARAL and Planned Parenthood which is as good a place as any to find that sick crew.

I wonder what Spitzer's three daughters think of their father - before he brainwashes them, of course.

I voted for Cronin over Pataki and have never regretted that vote.

"I voted for Cronin over Pataki and have never regretted that vote."

I did, too, and also never regretted it.

I must point out the treachery of Al D'Amato who I have heard has hosted fundraisers for Eliot Spitzer. Would somebody please kick him out of the GOP? I am also sick of hearing Al praise Hillary Clinton on NY1.

The discussion at a GOP luncheon today was how the media is coronating Spitzer and also about some of the treacherous bloggers who are bashing a good candidate. These are true RINOs.

And the way things are going, that is what is likely to happen. I have heard that D'Amato actually hosted fundraisers for Spitzer.

Please note Spitzer's support for gay marriage and his refusal to go after the little twerp of a mayor of New Paltz who was illegally performing gay marriages. This was brought up during the last debate but of course, Spitzer packed the house with his supporters who booed Faso when he mentioned it. Even many libs do not support gay marriage. I guess Spitzer is "out of the mainstream".

Don't know if you heard the Faso/Spitzer debate, but Spitzer called Hevesi an “honest,
stupendous public servant” EVEN after it came out that Hevesi admitted to stealing $83,000 from the taxpayers for his wife's chauffeur. I heard Hevesi earned around $350,000 per year, so couldn't he use his own money?

Also, Hevesi had done the same thing when he was NYC comptroller.

So why doesn't Eliott Spitzer go after Hevesi. Spitzer has DUPED the public. Even my conservative sister is slightly considering on voting for Spitzer, because he got those "big bad" Wall St. guys. I'm sure I can change my sister's mind, though.

We need to tell everyone we know & write letters to editors.

When I got to know D'Amato, I didn't care for him, but I never knew he was THAT bad. Yikes.

are you kidding me?

you want to compare the Pataki/Rudy/Bloomberg years - to the Cuomo/Dinkins era in NY?

NY is headed into the dark ages now now, the Spitzer years. And whomever replaces Bloomberg, people don't realize how bad it was years ago - they will again soon.

I don't think Bloomberg is that good. He is a big social liberal and control freak. He also loooooves raising taxes and has no sense of how real people live. He happens to have a good police commissioner - that is as far as it goes. And yes, Dinkins was terrible and Cuomo was dreadful. The next mayor - probably a Democrat - will do a lousy job and hopefully get kicked out after four terrible years. Pataki started out ok and then went over the cliff. Spitzer is part of the problem.

Spitzer has ignored medicaid fraud and he will shove gay marriage down people's throats. He likes splashy headlines and is also thinskinned. He threated Sean Hannity on the air several years ago. His enthusiastic support of partial birth abortion is also sickening.

I don't know what your post has to do with my post. Did you mean to "ping" me?

But since you mentioned Bloomberg, did you know that he tried to pressure intern doctors to learn how to do abortions, even if it is against their principles?

Did you know that Bloomberg is in favor of ILLEGAL immigrants having driver's licenses?

Just because a politician has an "R" after their name, doesn't make them politically conservative.

Spitzer also proposed $1 Billion for Embryonic stem cell research, even though no one has ever been helped with it, but so many have been helped with ADULT stem cells.

Spitzer has so many ideas about what to do with our tax dollars, but CLAIMS he will not raise taxes.

Don't know where he's going to get the money to keep all of his promises.

A co-called Republican blogger on another website admitted that he is not voting for Faso - well, I always knew he was two faced, and now he really proved it! Hopefully, other Republicans are more loyal. Freepers are the best! ALL, YOU FREEPERS: IGNORE THE POLLS AND GET OUT THERE AND VOTE FOR JOHN FASO IN NOVEMBER!

"Freepers are the best! ALL, YOU FREEPERS: IGNORE THE POLLS AND GET OUT THERE AND VOTE FOR JOHN FASO IN NOVEMBER!"

Ditto!

Today on NYPost columnist Fred Dicker's radio show, he said that the Spitzer handlers won't allow Spitzer's running mate, Patterson, to appear on too many radio shows, but FINALLY Patterson will be on Fred Dicker's radio show tomorrow. Also, they might not allow Patterson to debate.

Hard to figure those Spitzer people out - maybe they're more nervous than they let on. Hmmmmmmm

Everyone get out an vote! I put my Faso bumper stickers on my car & sent one to my brother. I will also send Faso a check.

Faso is having a rally in Manhattan tomorrow and will be in Queens. I hope the Freepers give him encouragement. Patterson is a loose cannon and terrible on police/crime issues.
