or in many cases, listen to the same music. Even in the 60's, whites and blacks listened to the same popular music. And both white and black musical entertainers appeared on the same programs,like American Bandstand for instance. This is no longer true. In many ways we no longer share the same culture and are more divided than ever before.

Its not just racial, its cultural. Conservatives and Liberals do not inhabit the same country. Think of how Red and Blue America as terms to capture group differences have entered our national vocabulary. This too is astounding.
