Buchanan sez Bush should be impeached

If you read the paraphrased quote you'll see that Buchanan didn't "call for Bush's impeachment." ... He said something to the effect that not securing borders is an impeachable offense. There is a whole lot of jumping to conclusions on this thread, and exaggerating what was said, and not said.

I think he's committed an impeachable offense in refusing to enforce the immigration laws and in failing to uphold the Constitution by defending the states against this invasion
When you have 6 million people apprehended on the border and several million got in on your watch - and you have the ability to stop it - I think you're derelict in your duty
And if the President says 'I can't do it,' you need a new President who will do it

IMO, accusing the President of committing an impeachable offense can be paraphrased as calling for Bush's impeachment without distorting the meaning. It could be paraphrased as accusing GWB of treason, bribery, high crimes or misdemeanors as well, it's clear Pat feels he's committed an impeachable offense.

What I object to, the media's obsession with describing Pat as a Republican, Republican firebrand Patrick Buchanan. Since he's not, though he doesn't object since that's what sells.

Buchanan's peak of popularity was soo long ago and he has fallen so far, he'll say just about anything to get his name in a headline. Is he still on MSNBC? I fully expect Buchanan to be on some celebrity reality show with Sistah Soljah, Amy Carter, and G Gordon Liddy.

Buchanan isn't any better than a rat.
