TORONTO (Reuters) - Some of the biggest names in Hollywood had their egos bruised at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

Critics and film buffs at the festival, which ended on Saturday, took special aim at Steven Zaillian's "All the King's Men," starring Sean Penn, Jude Law and Kate Winslet.

Several major reviewers declared their disappointment in the most controversial film at the festival, "Death of a President," a fictional documentary about the assassination of President George W. Bush

He couldn't even play a convincing boyfriend on "Friends".

Well, I just didn't realize the guy was a liberal activist POS. But if I had taken time to learn, I might have found out, and people wouldn't look at me as if I had gone to an Al Franken lecture and been upset he talked about what jerks non-liberals are.

"hey dude...let's party!" ....was the smartest line ever to come out of this piece of shi-ite's mouth.... Penn should have quit after playing spicoli - fast times at ridgemont high ....that is all he will ever be remembered for no matter how many oscars lib/hollywood gives him to press forward their liberal/socialist/anti-bush/anti-semitic/anti-american agenda!!!

Countdown until Willie Stark/Huey Long is called a rightwing republican nut case by revisionists.

ENOUGH WITH THE FREAKING RE-MAKES ALREADY!

"He couldn't even play a convincing boyfriend on "Friends"."

I don't think I remember that one (must HAVE been bad) :)

Still, Carlito's way, Sam I Am, Casualties of War, At Close Range. I think he was exceptional in those. Granted, he wasn't the only one. All of those movies also had other great actors.

"But there are a few "entertainers" who will not get my money. Barbara Streisand. Jane Fonda. Susan Sarandan. Sean Penn. And so on.

I caught Susan Sarandon on TV yesterday as a hired spokesman for Macey's.

Buh-Bye, Macey's!!

Strange you should mention a concert in conjunction with bashing of the President and political utterances. Just yesterday I talked with a liberal family member who is strangely street smart but politically extremely dumb. She had been to a concert and was gushing about how great it was, she said I would have enjoyed it and then demurred as it might have been a bit to political for me. I've always wondered where she got her illogical political leanings and I've seldom had a conversation with her that didn't include her making some reference to rock music. Could it be??? Inquiring minds would really like to know.

The commercial for the movie is awful. Penn is just shrieking.

Yes, I want to pay $10 so a bad actor can damage my hearing. Where do I get in line?

Figures they'd get Penn to play Long. Legends in their own minds.

Whats truly funny is the promos. Remember this movie when it was originally made won Best Picture in '49 or 50, they boast all the oscar winners and even then they all screw a remake, by casting a man whos best roles are playing a pothead and a retarded man! He played those roles great, because he was type casted, but this time, Pess is out of his league.

Anybody with a grain of decency would have disappeared from public view after being filmed in that sinking rowboat in New Orleans. Too bad penn wasn't wearing an anchor around his neck when the boat sank.

Could very well be.

I like music...nearly all types. Everything from Jazz to Sousa marches to Pink Floyd. I admit...there is one kind of music I CANNOT stomach AT ALL, and that is Rap. Just cannot find anything redeeming in it, it is too angry and negative for me, besides being...well...not music.

I have a wide latitude, and often I don't really care what the political leanings are, as long as they keep it to themselves. I can even appreciate to some degree if it is in their music, as long as that is not the prevailing theme.

They paraded this around the crowd, then released it into the air (open air theater)

But what about the environment?

And maybe he could have started a nuclear war like that German chick did in the 80s.
