I understand that the current crop of lefty politicians in your country are working to deny any additional honors to Lady Thatcher or any honors at all to Blair. From what you know of my country's honors are there any appropriate ones you can think of that we could bestow on them to honor their services to the world?
We don't have aristocratic titles, but there are other things we can lobby our congress for. Citizenship, for one (Winston Churchill, who had a valid claim to US citizenship based on his mother being an American, was only the second person given an honorary US citizenship, after the Marquis de Lafayette from the revolutionary war). Various forms of Congressional medals or Presidential awards as well.
I must be out of the loop on this one as I had not heard anything about denying honours to Blair or Baroness Thatcher.
It is not up to the Politicians though that is down to the Queen and her advisers or the Prime Minister at the time.
I defend Blair as PM and supporter of the WOT on terror but as regards anything else in my book he is just another left wing politician that I want out of office.
