Thanks AB, Congrats to the top 3 & Good Morning to EveryOne!

Chris Wallace could learn a thing or two from Rush in interviewing guests, if he cares about ratings.

For those missed, here 's what Dr.Rice said to Rush: "Colin Powell is a private citizen. He can have his views, ......... It's my responsibility now to help defend the United States ". - It 's nice to have a LOYAL Sec.of State atlast.

Great interview as only Rush can do, and they don't get any better than Condi, Powell has stepped in it and it's no secret any more.

Rush is right to question why the rats continually demagogue the war, he's been there. He knows what goes on and with his sources. He is the man of the hour always. Last Tuesday there was another man of the hour here is his story.

http://powerlineblog.com/

Major Eric Egland and his wife Ania appeared on CNN last Tuesday(see video at links on this site, his story is about half way down when you scroll) and gave a great account of why he supports the war and his take on what goes on in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The Major(who is a blogger) recently wrote the book "The Blog of War."
The Major found morale in Iraq, "sky high" as opposed to what the msmers report. He is a counter terrorist analyst and told of how the troops are actively helping Iraqis in creating schools, their social structure, building hospitals, along with many other avenues of rebuilding the war torn country.
He told of how the terrorists are PR masters but said little is said about how our night time efforts of taking out terror types night after night ever get reported. He's a true patriot and is ready to serve his country at a moments notice.
The major told a CNN interviewer named Betty last Tuesday of his three month internet romance with his wife Ania and how he proposed only three days after finally meeting her.
Their first son was born 10 days after Egland had returned from Iraq and his wife is now pregnant and expecting their second in Feb.
It was a heart warming "good news story" of a couple that are making a difference in a difficult war and Egland is proud that we "took the war to them" in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Check out the rest of powerline there is a bunch of other great stuff as well.

I have a history question where did the title of Secretary of State come from.

In Britain we call our Ministers Secretary of State for and then the relative department they run such as Defence or Health etc. So I find it interesting that your equivalent of our Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary is just called Secretary of State.
