no problem---he does look a lot more like 70 than 60.
Right. McCain has openly said that campaign contributions corrupt a politician no matter what. He admits that HE was corrupt (i.e. gave accress and special favors quid pro quo for contributions, etc.) and therefore assumes everyone reacts the same weak, dishonest way. Of course the media likes a "straight talker" who says every pol is a crook. He confirms their cynicism.
but... but... but... Hillary cares! And she is concerned about the children!
And... and... and... she's a woman so you're being a meanie (OK, that's going too far, the "woman" part that is)
Watching Negroponte making Chris Wallace look like an amateur.
Wallace is ONLY trying to get a "gotcha" moment out of this interview, NOT get information for public consumption.
You have to remember after Hillary is anointed, and it will be a coronations with all her sins forgiven and forgotten in a NY minute as the chosen one, the DBM/MSM will be remaking her so fast your head will spin.
The "new" Hillary will look like a virtual creation of an android that no one remembers at all. And it will all happen in lightening speed, just for the dem/rat/msm/BDM cause.
We will be up against a huge PR offensive in 08,it takes just the right candidate to overcome all that. I just want us to be ready for it. Never forget the late offensive Algorr put on in 2000, if he had another week it could have been a different ball game. When they are all pulling together, spinning, lying their assses off and recreating what would never sell an an open market, they can be a force to be reckoned with.
I think Haley barbour, strong, competent, conservative, says what he means clearly and forcefully, would roll over whatever phony "people's president" candidate the Dems could field.
Blackwell of Ohio would be my pick for VP if he had the governorship under his belt for at least four years.
Haley's looking better and better to me.
Yep...Wallace said "a dispute between a lot of patriotic men in the administration and a lot of REAL patriots in McCain and Powell and Graham and the others.."
NOW, he is going over the military records of all of the "worthy" ones...and saying "compared to the leaders in this administration that did NOT have military experience, don't they have more CREDIBILITY than the Bush Administration in these matters"???
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
This will be the LAST time I watch Chris Wallace.
He just accused Bush of NOT listening to the JAGS...didn't they sign a paper agreeing with Bush...
THIS was a Timmah Russert or Chrissy Matthews interview, not FIT for Fox News.
that's why 08 is soooo important. If we let the social/commies in, we have no idea what could be in store for us.
oh gosh i forgot to turn it on.be back later.
I agree with BOTH of you.
I agree that there is a chance that the Republicans can run a candidate that CAN overcome Hillary's name recognition.
However, I also believe that in order to DO that...we will need to do more than rely on CNNMSNBCFOXABCCBSNBC...they will all be campaign workers for Hillary....(too bad we can't take THAT up under the CFR act).
We have a YEAR to get this alternative news source thingy to make the difference.
What we need to do is figure out how...and how many here will sign on to do what it takes.
I remember a couple months ago, Peach was saying that we have a chance to make a difference if we have the DESIRE to be activists and not just commentators and voyeurs.
I think it is TIME to figure that out..and figure out HOW to make the difference.
He probably would! He has a strong touch of irreverence about him!
How about Brit for President and these guys as the primary members of his cabinet?
Count me in! Seriously, it's a ringing condemnation of our political class that they haven't called upon these fine gentlemen to utilize their tremendous gifts in the service of our nation. Of course, one of the major reasons for that neglect is that none of them are the type to sell their souls for politics.
As dumb as that sounds, stuff like that all counts! Remember bubbas' raspy/teary eyed "I feel you pain BS" he used to get elected? Unfortunately in certain segments of the population that stuff works.
(Thank God hillary can't go there, shrill witch doesn't sell very good)
That Tx, is a grand slam.
However, I have concerns about his personal life being dragged into the mix.
What good does it do us with name recognition if the name has scandals attached to it?
I am willing to forgive Guiliani for his marital problems, and think he would be a great president. I am not sure your average voter would think the same way.
Boehner did VERY well.
I loved it when Chris said something like, "let me come at this from another direction"...and John said, "I think you already have"..or close to it.
IOW...he was letting Chris know he KNEW what Chris was doing...and he wasn't going to be tripped up.
I loved how Chris tried to talk him into thinking that LOSING the House this year would be a GOOD thing in the long run for the GOP...(he must have been reading FR lately, because we have a few of those type thinkers here)...
What a putz.
LOL
What, no Brit smackdown of Juan? Come on, make it sporting and add some libs.
