In another life I was an eligibility worker for Medi-cal (before they integrated all the programs). Once a wk I had to do I&R (intake and referral). We had a list of programs everywhere to send applicants to. I still have friends that work there, although most couldn't take it and have left.

The employers of illegals should be held liable - by law - for all expenses if their wage slaves are injured or killed. If that stick were applied they wouldn't hire them and the costs wouldn't be dumped on the taxpayers and those paying inflated insurance premiums...another step toward making the illegals self-deport.

An Illegal Alien gets $10-$12 /hour. Anyone supporting a family in the US has tomake $40/ hour (wages, benefits)

So, who makes up the $28-30?

You-the taxpayer.

I'm making a freakin' $8 an hour as a janitor with a contractor for Delphi. Seriouly, I should change my name to Pepe and say I'm from Chihuahua - I'd pull a $2-$4 raise! I'm part Indian, so Mexicans keep thinking I'm one of theirs anyhow (so do Arabs)...might as well take advantage of it.

This is NOT totally true.
IIRC, a legal case forced an employer to pay the damages on an illegal
employee...no different than if the guy had been on workman's comp.

And in one of the eastern states, an illegal is collecting money
from a fund for traffic accident victims without any other monetary support.

This is what I have said from the beginning. If you want to hire an illegal, fine. Just be ready to pay for his children going to school, and don't even think about any of his family going to the ER. If you want to pay $5 hr for a fruit picker, then pay for his out of pocket expenses. It's not the taxpayers job to subsidize his fruit pickers. It costs about $10k a year for a student in Kalifornia, and a trip to the ER, well, that's real money! If he has a wreck and he is liable, then he either has insurance or his boss is liable because it is his fault he's in this country having wrecks. If the employer is held accountable for the expenses of the illegal, this crap would stop and the real cost of $5 fruit pickers would emerge.

I worked for the phone company for 30 years and they would tell us that we "cost" $90 an hour. I only made about $23 and hr. The rest was what the company paid for me to be a "responsible", middle class employee. I was "paid" enough to pay for insurance, taxes, etc. This stuff isn't free. If they don't pay, we do.

Drop this leech on the other side of the border and fine the employer who had him out there in the first place uninsured in the first place. 10,000 bucks for the first one and increasing fines for every illegal employee we find working for him.
