Marilyn Musgrave Fundraising Letter
Musgrave for Congress | 08/31/06 | Shaun Kenney via SNAIL MAIL!

Posted on 09/16/2006 6:55:00 PM PDT by Recovering_Democrat

The letter below was received by RD; it is in the form of a "memo" written to Marilyn Musgrave from her campaign manager:

Marilyn, It's critical that you take a moment, right away, an write our supporters and let them know you need their help.

I especially want you to contact Recovering_Democrat immediately.

RD has been a loyal friend...Your re-election campaign will cost at least $3.3 million (maybe even $5 million if those negative 527 ads come back like we have heard)....as a member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, you along with your like minded colleagues will force Congress to finally get tough on immigration reform legislation...

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; US: Colorado
KEYWORDS: co; musgrave
Lots more of the rhetoric needed for fundraising is included. I contributed to Marilyn's campaign when I heard about some idiot Democrat shoving some feces into her campaign headquarters...so I guess I got on her mailing list.

Can anyone Colorado FREEPers tell me: is MM in trouble politically, could the liberal hack job taking her on really WIN?

I EVEN got a phone appeal the other day from her saying she was only 4 points ahead in her latest poll...since I am NOT in Colorado, I have no idea how to judge the state of the race.

So please let me know! Thanks!
RD

It is a bad year for Colorado Republicans in general. The last poll I saw for Musgrave had her leading by 6, but its demographics seemed to have been slanted in favor of Republicans. There is a blog named coloradopols.com that follows the Colorado races...you can follow along there.

I drove through Musgrave's district a few weeks ago on a small state highway. I saw more Musgrave signs than signs for her opponent, but I was driving through farm country.

The liberals hate Musgrave's conservative stand on social issues, and the 527s will pour a lot of money into that race. And with the Democrats leading the Governor's race by 17 points, Republicans might be somewhat demoralized. I think Musgrave will pull it out...but she is not a shoo-in and probably could use the money...

Yep, this hater could probably use some money from other haters. I suspect that she'll win this time, but in the long term, the demographics are working against her. As it should be.

I've given to Paccione's campaign with a song in my heart and no doubt whatsoever that the days of Rep. Musgrave's pandering and divisive "values" are numbered.
