BELGRADE, Serbia-The United States on Friday purchased a plot of land for its new embassy in Belgrade that was flattened by NATO bombs in 1999.
A US$15 million (euro11.83 million) deal for the complex of buildings that included former Yugoslav Marshall Josip Broz Tito's residences and barracks that later housed elite military guard units, was signed between U.S. Ambassador Michael Polt and the Serbian government.
The area in Belgrade's plush Dedinje district was flattened in May 1999 when the Western alliance intervened to stop former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic's crackdown against separatist Kosovo Albanians. It neighbors the late Milosevic's headquarters.
Polt said that the U.S. government plans to invest about US$100 million (euro78.9 million) in the construction of the complex, that will include the ambassador's residence and other embassy buildings. The current U.S. embassy in downtown Belgrade is considered too insecure for its diplomats.
The new U.S. embassy "will represent a powerful symbol and a monument of friendship between the two states," Polt said.
The deal had been postponed for years because of opposition from hard liners in the Serbian military who had said the embassy would be too close to other Serbian army military installations, including an underground military complex that used to be Tito's and Milosevic's bomb shelter.
The Serbian military earlier this year announced the sale of its sprawling property now that the country and its military have further shrunken with the departure of Montenegro in May.
Allready posted, but this is extension
We should build a prison there to house the sink emperor for his crimes against humanity!!
Who is "sink emperor"?
Bill Clinton, He got this name because Monica testified that sometimes when she was using her mouth on him and he was in a hurry. He would go to the OVAL OFFICE SINK and spank his monkey. She witnessed this, its in the Starr report.
My mind is twisting and turning with all this. We are supporting Independent Kosovo, to the 100th degree....We are supporting KLA in the beginning, the NLA with MPRI, and at the same time, the Macedonian Forces fighting the NLA.????? Okay, we have lobbies (not to be confused with hotel lobbies)...
Still looking for those 10,000 dead Albanians.......found, I think, 2,108.....??Ah the refrigeration trucks. Thats another story.......moving on.
Okay, these lobbies are promoting "hard" for an independent Kosovo which I have to say, I told folks back in Kosovo that independent Kosovo would not be as easy as people think. Why? The 1244.......helloooooo, it's still in effect. Seems people seem to forget that little pesky referendum.....that just won't go away with creative forgetfulness......it takes voting of nations, duh......!!!!
I got in trouble with that one. My former OSCE boss was agreeing with the BIG boss from Vienna who was visiting, when he said....."Guess the Albanians are getting ready for their Independence"....Well, ole Tom can't keep his mouth shut, and I had to say...."Oh, you'all still think that's going to happen"?
Boy if looks could kill........:)) i guess I should have went along with it....moving on...
Now, my point back then was that Russia and China won't go for it.......since my country has it's knickers in every port....we push for Kosovo Independence....and if they get it.....All other countries + UN will be told to leave. U.S. stay......UN, thank you too but we're done with you so, BYE!
Now, when we landed in Kosovo, ole Wesley Clark was commander. He told a British General to ....get this; "block the Russians from taking the Pristina Airport". Wait, was it Serbs were were after or Russians.....or both..nevermind; so, this British General basically tells Clark (not be be confused with Clark Kent), "I'm not starting WWIII for you"....mark one for the Brits, my hats off. You see, Clark is a paying member of the ICG...a think tank for the NWO group, bet you didn't know that bit of trivia. Anyway, Clark was eventually "relieved of his command" for whatever reasons.
So, here we are, backing up KLA, fighting Serbs.....Supporting TMK/KPC and training them. We are allowing Chek-cu...opppps, I mean Ceku to "quietly" visit the U.S. State Dept? Okay the same Ceku that was pardoned for being a terrorist or criminal or what's the difference in the long run. He was pardoned? Okay, you only pardon a criminal, if a person is not a criminal you don't have to pardon? Well, he was given a pardon by Interpol no less. Okay, this makes a lot of sense right?
Anyway relative to the UN's position in the future, I see the following stages of Peacekeeping Operations..where do you think the UN will fall shortly if Independence is not granted....?
Five phases of a Peacekeeping operation
1. Please help us, we need you!
2. Thank you for coming, we love you!
3. Were glad you are here, what can you give us?
4. When are you leaving?
5. Leave NOW!
Now, with our links with Ceku, Ramush, Albanian Mafia etc....Supporting Kosovo Independence, then we now are building an Embassy to foster "Friendship"???
