Six months ago, Europe had had fewer attacks, and that makes a difference. I do think that there is a growing fear in Europe now. But let's review how the delegations of Europeans led the negotiations with Iran to stop the nuclear programs. They got nowhere. And before the Iranian president's interview with Mike Wallace, we seem to forget that he'd openly called the UN and its diplomats stupid. Which I would think would lead one to a point that it's not possible to talk this through with Iran.
You are talking about the "leadership" of Iran...not it's Muslim population.
OBL attacked America first for a reason. It is because Americans give Muslim populations hope for freedom and moderation. Europeans have only wanted to "dominate" and "rule" the ME "savages" and "barbarians".
I think that, to some extent, European self-esteem is built on comparing themselves to 3rd world backwardness. Their museums are full of paintings from the romantic period that make Arabs seem exotic. They need women in headscarves and Bedouins on camels in deserts to feel superior. That's why they exploited these areas instead of developing them when they had colonies.
"I do think that there is a growing fear in Europe now. "
They better hold onto their hats, because it's only going to get worse. This truly is a class of civilization against barbarians.
