MoveOn.org's anti-Semitic slurs criticized twice by The American Spectator.

A Mighty Democrat Has Struck Out By Jeffrey Lord Published 9/15/2006 12:09:16 AM

$168,591.

By any standard that's a good sized campaign contribution. It may also be turning out to be one more hurdle in an increasing series of self-created stumbling blocks in Pennsylvania State Treasurer Robert Casey, Jr.'s campaign to oust Republican Senator Rick Santorum.

Records on file with the Federal Election Commission reveal that MoveOn.org, the far-left interest group, has "bundled" $168,591 for Casey's Senate campaign.

The problem? MoveOn is increasingly being accused of pushing an anti-Semitic agenda, as the folks over at Israpundit have documented in great detail here here.

Also http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=10357 One of the first questions that will no doubt be asked in this year's fall campaign is just which candidates have the support of America First's political great-grandchild -- MoveOn.Org? The time has come for open discussions of the same issues that drove America First and which are so vehemently articulated by MoveOn today -- anti-Semitism and anti-capitalism being but two. Are Senate candidates currently accepting support from MoveOn -- including Ohio's Sherrod Brown, West Virginia's Robert Byrd, Florida's Bill Nelson and, particularly stunning in a state with both a sitting Jewish Governor (Democrat Ed Rendell) and a sitting Jewish Senator (Republican Arlen Specter), Pennsylvania's Bob Casey, Jr. -- willing to stand up and disavow this group? Or do they privately share beliefs with MoveOn, which in a style that harkens from America First, has entertained references to the Democratic Senator from Connecticut as "Jew Lieberman"?

There is also ample proof on file that MoveOn.org blatantly lied to the Anti-Defamation League about removing the anti-Semitic material. I found one Action Forum posting today that suggests that Jews "did something" to deserve the Holocaust, and many other MoveOn members voted agreement.

http://moveonpleasemoveon.blogspot.com/ for a rapidly-growing blog of anti-Semitic and in a few cases racist slurs at MoveOn.org's Action Forum, along with 9/11 conspiracy theories that would play well on the Jeff Rense Show.

In any event, the $168,591 explains why Bob Casey-- whom I liked and respected before I learned of his connection to George Soros and MoveOn.org-- has not repudiated and rejected the group's endorsement.

I'd just as soon MoveOn.org not self-censor, the better to know what they are.

Re: "I'd just as soon MoveOn.org not self-censor, the better to know what they are."

Actually, I am glad they were censoring and removing postings (including mine) that objected to the slurs. That makes them 100 percent accountable for the slurs because it proves that they (1) saw them and (2) could have removed them had they wanted.

Had they not censored anything whatsoever (except maybe spam) then they could have disclaimed responsibility for the material. As it is, I and others caught them red-handed.

If our most endangered Senate incumbent (Santorum) is now 6 points down in the polls, the Dems better start worrying more about holding their 45 seats, rather than taking control of the chamber.

There is no chance the Dems are going to win the Senate.

None.

Zilch.

Nada.

The left has always nurtured the Jew haters.

Hitler. Alexander Cockburn. The people who scream about Zionism. Supporting Muslims.

Does that mean that Santorum could lose? Because I hope he wins.

Agreed, he's a great conservative (unlike the clown who's running Texas and filling out state with toll roads), but Senator Sentorum has been close to 20 points down to former PA Governor Bob Casey's son, for at least the last several years (too conservative, blaa, blaa, blaa). But Santorum starting hitting hard on immigration and has now almost closed the gap.

There is a lesson here for other Republican candidates, but it may be hard for them to see (i.e., they have to look beyond the lobbyists).

Santorum is now only a couple of points behind Casey. When it comes out that Casey has accepted money and an endorsement from anti-Semites, America-haters, and 9/11 conspiracy theorists, Santorum will no longer be behind. We have no use for MoveOn in Pennsylvania, although it may play well in Massachusetts, New York, and the People's Republic of California.
