| WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2006 All Defense Department civilians pledge to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies when they take the federal oath of office upon joining the department, so defense civilians should seek to learn more about the government that they -- like U.S. servicemembers -- have vowed to protect, DoD officials believe.
As Federal civil servants supporting the Department of Defense, we have a special obligation to understand and appreciate the U.S. Constitution and the role we each play in providing for the common defense, Patricia S. Bradshaw, deputy undersecretary of defense for civilian personnel policy, said in a statement announcing DoDs participation in the observance of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. |

More like an Indictment of Sorry State of Public Education than News that this has to be done.
Probably an attempt to stave off the mini coups like we've had a CIA and the State Dept.
our school will celebrate constitution day on monday.
Is there any way to find out what it is they are going to teach? I can't imagine a government agency stressing the 10th amendment too much, or the second.
Interesting that they did not print the entire oath - they left out a very important phrase: "against ALL enemies - Foreign AND domestic"
That means that treasonous judges and politicians in our midst had best tread very lightly.
"when they take the federal oath of office"
Not too many places left that think an oath important.
DoD is still a good organization!
Hat's off Sir!
