Then would you explain to me why most of these listed either donated the amounts to charity or returned them. I say most because some of them such as Harry Reid refused, he of course did no wrong, just like the boxing tickets.

Donating to charity is merely a political calculation. Besides, most campaigns donate significant amounts to charity anyway. It pays their way to see-and-be-seen charitable functions and creates goodwill -- meaning the charitable donations still help the campaign. Donating to charity makes it appear to the public that the campaign has disgorged itself of the tainted donations while at the same time helping the campaign.

Donating to charity would not eliminate any criminal culpability.

I'm actually kind of surprised that you think donating such campaign contibutions to charity means anything at all.
