"Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Health Protection, Nikolai Gerasimenko, suggested the introduction of childlessness tax to improve the demographic situation in Russia.

“It is about time we should think about childlessness tax. If you do not want to think about your social duty for your fatherland than you will have to pay for it,” Gerasimenko said. The official added that State Duma deputies were currently considering the issue about the introduction of such a tax in Russia. As soon as deputies think the idea through, the law-makers will develop an adequate document on the matter. "

Look at all the websites of beautiful Russian women looking for American husbands. Ever see one for beautiful American women seeking Russian husbands? Pretty telling don't you think?

Russian drink lots and lots of vodka, and there isn't an American who can keep up with them. The ones who are not drunk all the time have a wife, mistress, girlfriend, and cigarette in their hand. Russian ladies are not only beautiful, but for the most part very conservative. A Russian woman puts her family above her occupation, and are the glue that holds their society together.

Declining population in Russia. Burgeoning population in China. 110-130 men for every 100 women in China. Interesting times.

Only Christian in name, probably less then 1% or less have any thing in common with Christianity like going to church.

Nonsense! You speak as one who has never been to Russia, and your knowledge is gained from the hostile MSM. Furthermore, you show your ignorance of the greatest revival happening since the Reformation. After the fall of the Iron Curtain Russia was faced with a spiritual vacuum, and they have been turning to the Lord ever since. It takes time for babes in Christ to grow into mature Christians. Likewise, it takes time for their churches to relearn their theology. Americans expected Russia to turn into the second America immediately after the fall, and never considered that our own country when through over two centuries of growth pains.

One of the things Putin has done at the urging of the Russian Orthodox Church is to ban abortion after 120 days, and they are working on lowering that.

BTW, my Russian wife was a child psychologist prior to moving here 5 years ago. She was also a graduate of lay seminary. The government picked her and several others to create an optional Bible curriculum for their schools. The Duma drafted it into a bill, and Putin signed it into law. Russians can have the Bible in their schools, but Americans have banned it here. Maybe we are the Laodicean Church.

I am not drunk all the time, and my friends and colleagues too. To have a wife, mistress and girlfriend is time consuming and too expensive, so not many could afford this. And Russian wives are strict and conservative, for misconduct can punish by hit in a head with frying pan. They are keepers of home hearth. We love and appreciate them. There is special Woman's Day feast - 8th of March.
But times are too hard. Almost all money are in Moscow and St Petersburg, very few left to people in other parts of country.
No work, no perspective. Earlier there where more children in farmer families, today agriculture is destroyed, and villages desolated. People think, it was one of main goals of our democrats. They introduced in schools propaganda of contraception and promiscuity under the guise of sexual enlightenment. Everywhere you can see pornographic magazines, videocassettes, TV and pop-art are often obscene. Homosexuality was disgustful even for our criminals, nowadays it is presented as obligatory element of democracy. In old times our liberasts would be in a jail for propaganda of obscene conduct.

From the broadest perspective, Bush doesn't need to address the problem of low birth rates because women in the U.S. have more than 2 children each during their life times.

There is, however, declining fertility among whites, mostly whites in blue states and the selfish yuppie types. I think the fertility rate for white women is 1.8, so whites are aborting the future of their race in America. And when the white majority is gone, I'm not confident America will survive.

Sergi, I certainly didn't men to imply 100% of Russian men are drunks, have a wife, mistress, and girlfriend. There are some very good Russian men. However, I have seen what I am saying too often, and talked to far too many Russian men and women, and I know for a fact this generally holds true.
