Isn't it interesting that, on their own web page, the banner has one image of Katie:

and a image link to an online feed of the newsbroadcast uses the same image, only flipped vertically?

Waiting to exhale? It's all the inhaling, if you ask me.

You have GOT to be kidding me. Couric has single handedly, with this trite yammering, reduced her already near-zero credibility (and that of the SEE-BS Snooze), to BELOW zero!
I mean, c'mon folks, where does THIS fit into any comments from the (ahem) "anchor" of the CBS Evening News? (just one example):
That was done so close to air that the producer, my friend Susan Zirinsky, said her running bra was somewhere between the edit room and the control room.
Even Dan Blather, for all of his pompous arrogance, would never write something so utterly inappropriate.

I watched the perkie one last night for the first time and I must say............ she was AWFUL just AWFUL! She was stiff and her voice sounded flat and I had trouble understanding her at times. She looked terrified and I would think after a week she would have loosened up a little. The camera angle was strange, it kind of looked down on her. Was that to hide her neck wrinkles? She did not appear to be enjoying her new job very much.

As the late Karen Carpenter sang, Close to you, I mean, Weve only just begun. Wow, how hip am I?I thought this was Scrappleface until I clicked on the link. Apparently, this is for real! Un-frickin'-believeable!

Last night was my one week anniversary
and the good news is, Im still employed! That's the amazing thing.
Even more amazing is how you got hired for this gig in the first place.
To: COUNTrecount
Good Lord, she writes like someone impersonating a teeny bopper on a my space account. How disgusting.
To: COUNTrecount
Im really really enjoying my new gig. So YOU'RE the one!

When I was reading this I thought it was from a 20 something staffer at CBS. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I found the true author was Ms. Couric. What a lightweight...lol.
To: COUNTrecount
To whom is she speaking? Teeny-boppers? Twenty-year old high-school dropouts sleeping on a couch somewhere? Fellow Cheerleaders?
She certainly could not be addressing professionals, adults and people who want the news to be simply the news and not a venue for some imaginary friendship.
" Ill be posting more in the days ahead, but I just wanted to touch base and give you a few quick impressions of my first week in the chair, and under the spotlight.
As the late Karen Carpenter sang, Close to you, I mean, Weve only just begun. Wow, how hip am I?
Stay tuned!"
Ooooooo! Katie! Way cool, girl. Way ta go TYROSBT! Cool! URUB!
Thank Heavens the internet exists. I can read the news in silence without pandering idiots slurping their vowels and opinions in my ears.
Pardon me. I have to yark...

She's toast! Maybe she would want to give back what they're paying her since she's just another over-hyped liberal who's ratings is already down the toilet?

I can't think of a good Latin word to express the antonym of
gravitas.
I mean, this would be an embarrassing level of discourse for a 14 year old girl.
