When we start abandoning entire cities and states (Michigan), I have to say I don't see pure capitalism as being particularly successful.

There's no need to abandon a city or state if it is a competitive place to do business. At this point, unions, crime, and taxes have made Michigan a difficult state to work in.

If these things change on their own, businesses will stay and more will come. If they don't, businesses will leave, forcing them to change, at which point some might consider returning.
