WASHINGTON - A rebellious Senate committee defied President Bush on Thursday and approved terror-detainee legislation he has vowed to block, deepening Republican conflict over a key issue in the middle of congressional campaigns.
Sen. John Warner (news, bio, voting record), R-Va., chairman of the Armed Services Committee, pushed the measure through his panel by a 15-9 vote, with Warner and two other GOP lawmakers joining Democrats. The tally set the stage for a showdown on the Senate floor as early as next week.

Furious is not the word. I didn't even bother calling any of them today. They don't care. I'm having such hateful thoughts now it's not even funny, and I'm not a mean person.

Pretty damned discouraging.

The president will veto the hell out of this crap legislation. Congress will not get serious about fighting the Islamofascists until there's another 9/11-like attack. I hope McCain doesn't seriously think he could ever be our presidential nominee. As for Graham, I could never figure that guy out. RINOS OUT!!!!

I dont' get why men who refuse to wear a uniform and fight out in the open, are afforded the same rights as those who bravely and honorably put on the uniform of their country, (no matter what country).
Isn't that a slap at soldiers who do wear the uniform?
Why would anyone sacrifice and volunteer to serve if they are disrespected by putting terrorists in civilian clothes on the same level of honor?????????
I am confused, what are McCain's arguments?
To: Mo1
Shep just said that he has it on good authority that Graham and Collins will NOT BACK DOWN...
Major said he interviewed Lindsey and Lindsey said that " the POTUS is wrong, the VPOTUS is wrong, the DNI director is wrong, the intelligence community is wrong"...

Fox reporter met with Lindsay Graham. Graham claimed that the President was wrong, the Vice President was wrong, the DNI was wrong, and the Intelligence community was wrong.
Graham is wrong in my book.

Anything this pack of sick scumbags does is irrelevant - - never pass.
It's all for show, and I hope the voters show these bastards the door.
