Good for you. Hardest thing for me was gettin' my head straight. Realizing that I didn't have to go any where or do anything. Everything was now on my terms and at my pace. When I retired my folks were failing, so I knew I couldn't leave yet. Got a part time job til I had to take care of them full time with my sister who was still working. Couple of years and they passed, just started getting my head back on and 9/11 hit. Finally, Jan 02, I got moving, commuted between here and NYC for a few weeks, found this place and was all settled in by 5/1/02. That's when it hit me. I don't have to work anymore!!!!

Me, I still have almost 8 years to go, but I'm making my preparations. I can't wait!

By the way, kudos for taking care of your parents when they needed you. I did the same for my mom, who passed on in 2003, and those were some of the sweetest moments of my life.

I'm going to take very well to retirement. That is IF there is any money left to retire with...I've still got 3 girls and a wife at home...and there does not seem to be enough money in the world to keep those 4 in bangles....
