Perhaps the Political Suicide Club Conservatives might want to consider this. In all the political wet dream fantasizes that "Conservatives win by losing" what do they think happens to their slim chances of taking BACK the Congress if the Democrats follow up this with a reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine?

The Fairness Doctrine would totally destroy Conservative Talk Radio. Without talk Radio the Conservative ability to win the Congress back goes from slim to nonexistent. This wacko wild butt guess that by losing the Congress the Republicans would be "forced" to more to the right is the dogma of political Know Nothings. This "idea" shows a complete ignorance of the powers of incumbency and the very real damage Democrats could do even if by some miracle they only held the Congress 2 years.

Top Democratic congressional leaders are complaining to network and cable television news executives that the networks are giving the party short shrift in national security stories.

"Until now, there has been a complete absence of balance in the news coverage of national security issues," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. and Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in letters sent yesterday to top news executives at NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News Channel and CNN.

Another comparrison which Smeagol Carville failed to make, is the fact that like the War on Terror, WWII went on for nearly a decade before the U.S. got involved. The Terror War was going on for MANY YEARS before America engaged it. The 90s for example. The war was waging and we didn't engage it. The 30s and early 40s for example. Fascist Nazi Germany and Imperialistic Japan was consuming the world for a decade murdering millions and destroying dozens of legitimate governments, before America got off it's ivory tower and got engaged. If we'd of engaged Germany and Japan in the 30s, and terror in the 90s, both wars would have been over many years sooner. Pearl Harbor wouldn't have happened, Normandy wouldn't have been necessary. 9-11 wouldn't have happened, and Afghanistan and Iraq likely wouldn't have been necessary. If we'd of been engaged in the war being waged on us in the 90s, like in the 30s, both would have ended a dacade sooner. That's a comparrison that Smeagol Carville will never make. But both are accurate.

Ooooooo that is an EXCELENT book. Taken from first hand accounts, former Muslims, impossible to debunk. You have to feel sorry for Muslims really, forcibly indoctrinated for over 1,400 years.

Yes. I've picked up several interesting things from the book so far.

One is that Islam has great appeal to people who want strict rules that they can obey unquestioningly. Where Christianity and Judaism both expect people to question and discuss and thereby grow spiritually, Islam requires its adherents to accept and obey without question.

The authors rightly point out that a recent danger within Christianity is the feel-good liberal mainstream churches that levy no rules or requirements on their members. Many people drift away from their religion simply because there's no structure, right vs. wrong, etc. The authors cited quotes from American converts to Islam who praised the clear, unchanging, strict rules of Muslim life, which made them feel safe and secure.

That really rang true to me. I attend an evangelical Christian church (Southern Baptist) because it requires me to question and discuss and learn, but still has a core of biblical tenets which you must accept to be a member.

There are a lot of fascinating comparisons in the Caner book.
