Joseph Vogel’s Aug. 27 letter "Muslim fascism had a grip on Afghanistan" falls into the category of problematic, to say the least. If the Taliban are "Islamic fascists," deed, though the Christian leadethen the Nazis were "Christian fascists."
Inrs of Germany praised Adolf Hitler at the time, there was nothing Christian in the Nazis. They used their people’s faith and love of their country to lead them to hell. Similarly, there is nothing Islamic in forcing a particular government or religious practice on anyone, as the Taliban do. Islam, like Christianity, is about worshipping God and helping the poor and needy.
In far clearer terms than exist in the Bible, the Quran proclaims, "There is no compulsion in religion." In surah 109, God orders the faithful to say to those who reject faith: "I don’t worship what you worship and you don’t worship what I worship. To you your religion and to me mine." It commands the faithful to give charity and protect the rights of those in need, no matter what their religion. The legitimate leadership belongs to those who serve the people, not themselves.
Leaders in Islam will be answerable to God for how they treat those under them — that they respect them and look out for their best interest.
The recent failures of our foreign policy should give people cause to go back and educate themselves better to go in a new direction rather than continuing to follow our lost leadership blindly.

No, the Nazis were neo-pagan fascists--Franco and his crew were Christian fascists. And Tojo and his crew were Shintoist fascists. And, since they adopted a market economy, the Chicoms are atheist fascists. And the Burmese junta are Buddhist fascists.
Fascists come in all religious stripes, and the offense that Muslims take at having their own fascists, who like the Meiji-era Japanese fascists openly profess and identity between their politics an their religion, called "Islamic fascists" is unseemly and suggestive of fascist sympathies in those who take offense.
The cry would come from Christian ministers, laymen and casual believers from all denominations.

Qur’an:2:193 “Fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief) and religion is only for Allah. But if they cease/desist, let there be no hostility except against infidel disbelievers.”
Qur’an:4:94 “Believers, when you go abroad to fight wars in Allah’s Cause, investigate carefully, and say not to anyone who greets you: ‘You are not a believer!’ Coveting the chance profits of this life (so that you may despoil him). With Allah are plenteous spoils and booty.”
NAZI's had nothing to do with Christ, unlike Taliban and other Islamic terrorist which does everything in the name of Allah. Just another Christ hating liar.
When there is not ONE Islamic cleric preaching terrorism to his followers-
When there is not ONE WORD in the Koran about domination, subjugation and violence toward non-Muslims-
