State Rep. Keith Ellison won the 5th District Democratic primary Tuesday. His victory could bring the first black representative from Minnesota to the U.S. House of Representatives and the first Muslim to Congress.
Jim Leinfelder, communications director for Ellison, said "buoyant euphoria" lofted through the room after announcement of the win.
"I've been to a lot of events like this and it's hard to remember anything like this since (Sen. Paul) Wellstone's first victory," he said.

In other words, either he's lying about being a muslim, or lying to get elected.

This what the caption under the photo says:

Is this another one of those Dem dirty tricks? He runs for the House of Representatives, but if he wins, he's in the Senate?
The Republican candidate will be Alan Fine, who doesn't stand much of a chance. Plus there will be Green party and Indepedence Party candidates.
Aside from the shock value of Ellison's victory, I don't think his voting record will be much different than the incumbent Martin Olav Sabo.
Sabo has the image of an on-the-level square-head Scandinavian, but his voting record is about as far left as they come.

The issue shouldn't be about his religion, any more than any other candidate's should. His positions on abortion and gay rights indicate that he's pretty far away from most American Muslims (and most observently religious people) on social issues. What should be an issue is his record of defending radicals and criminals even in the face of overwhelming evidence. While he has tried to ban law-abiding citizens from carrying firearms in public places, he has tried to facilitate voting rights for convicted felons, and that worries me much more than who he prays to.
This fiasco should be enough for the Jews to become Republicans immediately. Why they won't beats me. We care more about them than they care about themselves.
I guess that you haven't heard that the Muslim's religion is all about killing us and taking over this country.
There is a "woman" who works in a nearby Sears named Taqiyya. She wears the female-slave headgarb. She claims the name means "object of great beauty".
Which incidentally could not be further from the truth to look at "her".
Turns out the name translates as "liar". No surprise.
