Yeah, you're probably right. Very much like those American sheep, or sheep anywhere, for that matter, who always call for more gun-control.

The fight for liberty is never ending.

Fortunately, Canadian gun owners and activists are getting better and better organised by the day. There's currently a full court press deluging the media with "see, gun control doesn't work" messages. We've dominated the letters columns in most of the major papers since yesterday, and it looks to continue.

Within a few days, expect to see the tone of letters move towards advocating CCW.

There's still the predictable hand-wringing and cries for more "gun-control," of course, but not as much as would have happened previously, and not as strong.

There's a long way to go, but this tragedy might actually be a tipping point towards some sanity. (I may be overly optimistic, but things aren't all gloom and doom, either.)

The CSSA (Canadian Shooting Sports Assoc. -- Canada's "NRA") and sister org. CILA (Canadian institute for Legislative Action) are mobilized on the issue, too.

Oh Lord, I hope it works. It would take some of the pressure off us down here. But as we both know, if the gov't goes for more gun control....it's not out of a concern over criminal acts or acts of lunacy. Gun control never equals crime control. It's all about people control.
