Yes, having lived in the PRK (that's "People's Republik of Kaliforia"!) for almost twenty years, I am well aware of how such things go in quasi-police states. Unfortunately.

The operative paradigm in such places and times is very basic, and much easier said than done: Strike hard, then disappear.

My problem is, and again, I'm sure I speak for many others here in saying this, is that in such situations I will act regardless of the consequences. There are larger things than oneself, and this is but one example. Knowing this about myself is why I have trained for some time in the method I mentioned. That is, of course, is no gaurantee of success.

But calling it "automatic" sells more papers, and makes it more emotionally intense. Doesn't matter to the Star that it's incorrect.

The Toronto Star -- or the Red Star as we call it -- is politically somewhere to the left of Pravda. They are hard-core liberal and vehemently anti-gun. What the euphemisically call "journalism" is well known to be mostly left-wing spin and propaganda. They have been known to fabricate/falsify 'news' outright to support their agenda.

Somehow, they are still considered to be one of Canada's "national" papers.

The mind boggles.

The real perp could be stopped before the body count soared if some of the potential victims were armed,like say,even the faculty. After all aren't the faculty entrusted with shaping the thoughts and future of the students so why not their protection as well?
And if the faculty can't be trusted not to ham each other or the students then why are they allowed to remain?

If a significant but not immediately apprarent percentage of the otential victims are known to be armed ,that alone will deter and change the plans of would be perpetrators.

Be sure to go for your "Restricted" as well as "Non-restricted" PAL. It's cheaper to do the two together rather than separately (I think), and you're going to want it eventually, anyway. :)

There's a number of good ranges in your area. You probably want to check out the Guelph Rod and Gun Club (www.grgc.ca). Good people and atmosphere there. The Galt club is good, too. And Shooter's Choice in Kitchener...
