September 13, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Taliban terror leaders who had gathered for a funeral - and were secretly being watched by an eye-in-the-sky American drone - dodged assassination because U.S. rules of engagement bar attacks in cemeteries, according to a shocking report.

U.S. intelligence officers in Afghanistan are still fuming about the recent lost opportunity for an easy kill of Taliban honchos packed in tight formation for the burial, NBC News reported.

Why after "conservatives" have been in control for 6 years, are we still fighting a PC war?

These rules of engagement are totally insane. Here was a gathering of most of the leading Taliban figures and we can't bomb them? Who made these rules?

I know we're the more civilized people -- which is wy we don't torture -- but rules like these are rules that completely prevent victory.

Frankly, I am having trouble articulating my level of anger over this.

How many coalition soldiers will pay for this stupidity with their lives? I'd like the President and Donald Rumsfeld to explain to their families why this HAD to happen.

And this isn't about separating ourselves from the barbarians. The real barbarity is to the families of the soldiers who will be killed by these vermin when we allow those who would kill them to openly congregate with total impunity.

Just strike after the funeral if you must avoid hitting the funeral.

The point of hitting them at the cemetery was that they were formed (see video) making a single target.

When dismissed, they all went in different directions. There was no longer any big target, there were numerous little targets. Blowing two Taliban up with a Hellfire is a waste of a Hellfire.

I really wish we could move past that at times for the good of the country.

I am more concerned about how this prolongs the war and makes us look weak, no matter who is in charge.
