THOUSANDS of people are expected to camp out at booking outlets tomorrow night for tickets to Steve Irwin's memorial service.
The life of the Crocodile Hunter will be honoured at a special public memorial service next Wednesday at the family's Sunshine Coast animal park, Australia Zoo.
The memorial will be held at the park's Crocoseum, which was built by Mr Irwin and holds a capacity of 5500.
Three thousand tickets a maximum of four per person will be released to the public at no charge from 9am (AEST) on Friday at Australia Zoo's box office and Ticketek outlets at Maroochydore and Brisbane.
A police spokeswoman said officers were working on a plan of action to deal with the crowds of people who were expected to queue for tickets.
Mr Irwin's manager and close friend John Stainton said the service would involve guests sharing their memories of Mr Irwin, with John Williamson to perform the Crocodile Hunter's favourite song, True Blue.
Although larger venues such as the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Suncorp Stadium were suggested, Mr Irwin's widow Terri today said her husband would have wanted the service to be conducted at home.

" ... Steve Irwin's Daughter To Carry On With TV Show
In memory of her dad...
By: Lowri Williams on 9/15/2006
The daughter of the later Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin has vowed to continue with her own TV show and carry on her beloved dads work.
Bindi Irwin, 8, has also pledged to swim with stingrays in her new nature series Jungle Girl.
Irwin was filming scenes for Bindis children show when he was struck through the heart by a stingrays barb, he was 44.
An insider said of Bindi: Bindis a real fighter, just like her dad. She loved him so much and knows hed be proud of her picking up where he left off. Shes a natural in front of the camera and Steve would be chuffed knowing this is what she wants.
Irwins family laid him to rest at his Australia Zoo earlier this week. A public memorial service will take place next Wednesday at the Zoos Crocoseum. ..."
Hey Aussie, I heard about the huge memorial for Steve today. Do you know any websites that may have covered it or recorded it? I looked for it on TV here in New York, but it seems the terror loving puke arse media here is more concerned with what that SOB Iranian President has to say at the UN than Steve. I`m really ticked off I missed it. Someone told me his daughter read a really heartbreaking letter. Me and my brother made a donation to Wildlive warriors last week and it really sucks terrorists in this country get more press than someone like Steve.

That should be a good start.
