WASHINGTON Democrats are blasting President Bush for giving what they call a political prime-time speech on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

It defines them,,,and it is just WHAT THEY DO BEST. We can't that.
I would like to know specifically what their beef is. GWB never mentioned party or politics once. If anything, he could have used this opportunity to trash the Dems for being defeatists and soft on terror but as usual he took the high road. I would like to see him get down and dirty with them more often but that is not his style. In fact, is he not the least partisan president in modern history?
CHURCHILL: I say to the House as I said to ministers who have joined this government, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering.
You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.
You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs - Victory in spite of all terrors - Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.
CHAMBERLAIN: Churchill is politicizing the war!!!
BBC: We must surrender immediately!
No. . . . the BBC wasn't like that back then, was it?
Oh, that was a low blow.
Rebutting them with Lincoln's famous address.
Well done!
And, yes, I agree with the majority here. I'm tired of their crying. *I* didn't ask for only one party to be sane on the war. You liberal morons are the ones that chose to abandon domestic issues you've always considered to be your strong suit, in favor of rooting against this country during war.
Just how damn difficult would it have been to preach FDR New Deal policies and SUPPORT the war as used to be done for the majority of our history?
If you are unhappy, you made your flea ridden bed. We didn't. Infact I've been fighting to keep the last sane voice on national security in your party still a force. And ordinarily I wouldn't lend a political hand to a liberal, but you guys have forced me to in Leiberman's case.
I demanded Dean's resignation. I tried to tell you idiots to purge Kos, but you wouldn't listen. This is YOUR fault so suck it up and deal with the consequences of your irresponsible actions.
"Good morning, you have reached the offices of the Democratic National Convention. We are currently working on new whines and attacks on Bush so please leave a message. Listen carefully because our menus (and agendas) are constantly changing. To listen to the whimper of the day, press one. To call the Waaahmbulance, press two. To add a unique hate-speak comment to our tired and worn out mantras, press three......"
oops, should be Committee. My bad
DNC: Bush politicized 9/11 by getting out of bed.
So W used that time to tell the American Public that the masterminds of many terrorist attacks against us were moved to GITMO...rather smart I thought. He was able to get the word out afterall. The dimwits didn't like that.
Dems are such hypocrites...
Second, everything occurs in a "political" realm. We control our government by picking leaders. Those decisions are important. The idea that Bush should suggest a policy other than his own is crazy. He believes in it, he's doing it, and he should ask the people to support it.
He appeared on 9-11, a day in which memories are still strong.
He didn't need to say anything political.
Just his being on that day invokes certain memories the Dems want people to forget right before election where they are trying to join with Mccain, Linds and Liz's ex husband to sink military tribunals for terrorists.
It doesn't help them politically, so they are upset. Compounding the problem he makes an appearance while a film is on reminding people that the '90's weren't exactly all good times of peace and propsperity.
I'm surprised the DNC Losers didn't try to get the President's speech edited, banned or pull off the networks. The President's speech was indeed one of his best in my opinion.
It's probably ticking them off that Bush's approval rating went up yesterday too...oh, the pain... :o)
BOO FREAKIN HOO. I mean, come on, how dumb do these imbeciles think we are? They have spent years trying to use Iraq and the WOT for their own political purposes. They're just sore because their tactics haven't delivered them the elections they wanted.
Marty Meehan was on whining to Bill (new guy on Fox) about what made this speech political was that the President mentioned Iraq! Yes! Bill said Tony Snow said that if the President HADN'T mentioned it then people would have accused him of hiding something!!
Oh brother. First they refuse the President's premise, which he firmly believes, and then attack him for stating that premise!
I am REALLY wanting to crush them in this election. I mean crush them, into DUST.
