Osama: Do you hear the footsteps coming yet?
Yep, she needs to kick a field goal, right between his legs. And when he comes to, do it again.
Fyi..
holy crap, if this is true, it's huge!
Well, at least you had an excuse. :o)
Flew into O'hare, but that was it for Chicago. Hopped on to Galesburg, via quad-cities airport.
'More like a Pakistani and Saudi stooge'
He aligned himself with the Iranians after he got shut out of power sharing. I believe we both agree on the stooge part.
"The Russians might a word with him when we are through...."
Indeed. The "Mujh" had a nasty habit of mutilating Soviet captives BEFORE killing them.
BTW--This is a bit OT, but can anyone explain (I can't understand it) why the Soviets, with 5 million men under arms, tried to pacify Afghanistan with less than 130,000 men?! That's stupidity on a Darwinian level.
I dunno, we did it with far less than that.
Oh I know. The difference--and a big difference--is that rank and file Afghanis were HAPPY to see us. Anything to get the Taliban off their backs.
". . .can anyone explain (I can't understand it) why the Soviets, with 5 million men under arms, tried to pacify Afghanistan with less than 130,000 men?!"
Because that is all they had available for that kind of adventure.
About half their 5 million men did not really have first-line weapons, or logistics available to support them in the field. Much of the Soviet army was used to gather crops during peacetime.
Of the half that was left, about a million were needed to keep an eye on the Chinese, maybe 750,000 to keep Eastern Europe as "allies" (can you say occupation troops?) and maybe half a million to keep the restive people in the Soviet Union under control. That left about 250,000 for active deployment in foreign adventures. They committed about half of that to Afghanistan (and maybe another tenth as advisors, world-wide).
Hekmatyar...........................................................................................Saruman
Is there any confirmation of this? I have seen no announcement from the military. Nor has it been picked up by the major media except for the one Deutsche Presse article.
Here is Roggio's latest take on it:
Updated: The Khaleej Times is reporting a commander of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hezb-e-Islami, along with six associates were captured at a compound near Hafezan in eastern Nangarhar province. The initial report of Hekmatyar's capture may be premature, however American intelligence sources are tight lipped on the subject at the moment. My feeling?
They may have him, but don't want word to get out until they finish rolling up his network. Roggio is generally a very reliable source.
Great news!! One of the worst (and most radical) Islamic warlords has been captured.
May Hekmatyar die soon and rot in hell.
Update from Roggio who is on the Hugh Hewitt show as I type...they are running DNA testing on they guy captured...
See post 158...
I thought he was in Canada.
I do not know his nationality.
