And now that "awful metallic grinding sound" (that the first hand witnesses describe) as the first tower collapses. :(That's what pisses me off about these conspiracy wackos. You have first-hand witnesses of that (where did you read about that, by the way?). I don't think I'll be responsible for my actions if a reflexively kick the ass of anyone who repeats that in public near me.

Someone posted a link to a blog column - apparently a number of people, including an NYC resident who is a friend of mine, reported that the sound of the metal bending and snapping as the towers came down was awful, a sound like the end of the world. Apparently, the news cameras didn't capture the noise. No conspiracy theory, just an observation by people there.
