A Nigerian man had his right hand severed in Saudi Arabia on Saturday after he was convicted of stealing in the Great Mosque in Mecca, Islam's holiest shrine, the interior ministry said.
Kurba Thani Mohammad was found guilty of "committing the crime of pickpocketing inside the Great Mosque" at an unspecified date, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
Mohammad was sentenced to the amputation of his hand, and the punishment was carried out in Mecca, it said.
Saudi Arabia applies a strict form of sharia, or Islamic law, that provides for severing the hand for theft. The death penalty is meted out for murder, rape, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking.

I've seen videos of both hands and feet being lopped off (Very quickly and with practiced surgical skill, I might add). In each of the case, the individual was drugged out of their mind and a tournequet was applied. Very gruesome and disgusting.
What I want to know is who the idiot was inside the Bush White House who came up with the idea of calling Islam a "peaceful" religion, because after that, the media just ran with it. I would love to have someone document for me one single thing that has EVER been done in the name of Islam or in keeping with the Koran that is anything other than demented and violent.

As much as I agree with some of the Islamic punishments....one has to get a chill to find out that one gets the death penalty for.....

Have any Arab/Muslim countries gave a tribute to the victims of 9/11? These extremist groups continue to flourish because moderate muslims basically turn a blind eye to what they do. That is like a person who is witnessing a murder outside thier window looks down and does nothing because they don't want to get involved.
IMO they could care less about the USA because they ALL hate Israel and since the USA is a friend to Israel they
turn the other cheek to terrorist acts.
Maybe we will end up being like Israel when it comes to fighting Islamic terrorism, fighting forever until the Good Lord intervenes.
They are a barbaric death cult, there is no other logical description.
Could some dear soul remind me of what the punishment is for not being muslim and being caught in Mecca?
