Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth
Yes it is national, and we have a long way to go before we get a truly conservative government.
However, we are a lot closer now than we were twenty years ago.

Indeed. I think at worst, the GOP will hold even. I think there is a greater chance that the Democrats will lose seats then gain them. I mean really, for them to gain seatch, Democrats would have to have ideas, direction, solutions, and they have none of that. There's just no reason for more Americans to vote for them. Just like in 2004 and 2002, they're the party of no. The party of obstruction. The party of hate. Democrats are the pessimistic hate filled obstructionist party of NO, and that isn't attractive.
I'd love to see that myself. You'd still have to deal with the Democrat influence in the other cities, like Buffalo, but it would probably be better. So, Lower New York, and Upper New York? "North New York" just doesn't sound right. Or should upstate name itself with a completely new name?

I had the same reaction and I followed the Klintoon/Lewinsky/impeachment thing VERY closely.
I can't tell you how many times I had seen that clip in various settings, but last night it was absolutely shocking.
There is NOTHING the Rats can do to put the shine on that clip. The filmmakers did nothing but juxtapose it at the correct time (chronologically) in the narrative and, as you said, there is no way around the fact that Bubba came off as the world's biggest sleaze bucket.
Not only do those few shocking words ("I did not have sexual relations with that woman . . . Ms. Lewinsky . . .") utterly tarnish whatever legacy Bubba had, worse, from the Rat point of view, they bring up every negative emotion and conclusion concerning MRS BILL CLINTON that ever existed.
IOW, those few shocking words (again, shocking in their arrogance and stupidity on every relevant scale) also utterly tarnish the prospects of MRS BILL CLINTON.
The Rats cannot nominate MRS BILL CLINTON without, once again, fighting the battle over the import for our nation of a President who stood up and, red-faced, finger-wagging, belched out an adolescent lie of such ickiness that that lie actually gets WORSE over time.
Maybe ABC was scared that Clinton would come mess with their teenage interns.

My 17 year old daughter last night said Clinton didn't talk about it because then he would have actually had to do something about it, when if fact he was just waiting for the next election so it would become somebody else's problem.
