The point is he attempts to be such a regular, jovial guy, but wow he went stone cold on that offer from Cheney. Perhaps he didn't like the odds. Or couldn't seen to be having fun with one of the eeeeeevils.
This guy can afford a new speech writer, can't he? Coming from the do-nothing Senator, they resonate about as much as they did when he used them in every single performance four years ago.
He was in Vietnam though. Did you know that?
Cheney's "wanna bet" is the perfect argument ender for all of us when confronted with liberal nonsense.
Thanks! :-)
A loud AMEN to your post 3!!!
I am in total agreement!
It's what elections are all about!
Vote them in, vote them out.
Stick to party principle and don't back down.
Because our principles are GOOD.
That's what makes us a better party than the liberals.
Their principles are bad. Wrong. Against American interests.
Reeks of socialism. Has the earmarks of unholiness.
Have convictions! Don't waver. Keep your chin up.
Stay positive and get away from the negative mess that seeks to make you doubt!
And above all, remain true to America and her values.
Then vote Republican!!!
Thanks for the report. I was sorry to have missed Cheney, but knew he'd do well against tater head.
Polls, polls, polls!! At least 3 times Russert pulled out polls. He is so lazy. Poll analysis is a cop out for a "journalist" (I use the word lightly) so he won't have to do some real work. Pathetic.
Well, the last time Cheney made a prediction was the margin G.W.B. and himself would win re-election. He was pretty close.
Anyway, yeah, I've never predicted they'd lose the houses...though had they passed amnesty we'd see....I'm one of the many Freepers that voted in the FR poll they would lose neither this fall so Cheney and I agree on this one.
That doesn't mean I'm invested in protecting RINO's though. They can lose. But I am countering by supporting conservative challengers elsewhere.
Sorry, Russert, we are not buying your MSM tripe anymore. When a Democrat (Corzine) wants to bet, Russert is all nicey nicey. Read below:

MR. RUSSERT: But bottom line, there are 48 Democratic senators now. How many will there be in January of '05?
SEN. CORZINE: Fifty-one.
MR. RUSSERT: You have 51 Republicans now. How many in January '05?
SEN. ALLEN: Well, we're up by an extra point now and I think we'll be up by at least a field goal afterwards because I think they're quality candidates with messages and values that resonate with the people in those states and I think they want to see pos...
MR. RUSSERT: So what's your number?
SEN. ALLEN: Our number, 54.
MR. RUSSERT: Fifty-four. You say 51.
SEN. CORZINE: I'd like to take a little bet on that one. You need to...
SEN. ALLEN: No, you ought to look at the reality.
MR. RUSSERT: How about a wager for the Boys and Girls Club?
SEN. ALLEN: Fine.
MR. RUSSERT: All right. We'll settle the amount after the show. We're saving the tape.
SEN. CORZINE: After the show.
MR. RUSSERT: Senator Corzine, Senator Allen. We'll be right back.
I couldn't sleep either, but I watched Ted Koppel's new show on the Discovery Channel instead. The first episode was about the cost of freedom, and it typically focused on wiretapping and Abu Graib. It gave me stomach cramps, and then I REALLY couldn't sleep.
Cheney showed the patience and forbearance of a saint. After the interview he went back to thinking about today instead of rehashing the issues of three years ago. Do they really pay Russert the big bucks to stay stuck on stupid?
***"They've been incompetent," Kerry told CNN's "Late Edition." "... We can do better."****
How can anyone be more incompetent than Bill Clinton. The man hit the Chinese Embassy with a missile. In fact thats about the only thing he hit other than some empty tents in the desert. he never found anyone guilty of hitting the USS Cole after promising us he would. Is that incompetence?
We can do better? The only thing the Democrats do better is at appeasement.
One of the greatest thing wrongs with the Democrats is that they actually believe the United States is a bully. That we pick on small countries.
They are too stupid to realise we are the big brother that runs the bullies off from picking on our smaller sibling.
Without the United States Israel would cease to exist.
Without the United States Islam would rule the world in the next 25 years.
It isnt easy to see a coward being picked on,and to step in on the side of that coward and tell others to leave them alone, but its what the United States does,Its what Australia and Britain have been helping us to do.
Just like in the playground , when it happens, the coward doesnt thank the ones that help them, they slink away ashamed of themselves and hating the ones who helped them because they were inadequate.
Now that is a good and accurate perspective..we gotta get out and vote to avoid the RATS taking over. Besides wouldn't it be hysterical to watch Howard Dean and his fellow RATS squirm if the GOP could pick up some seats! Now that would be great!
Well he could say it wasn't him betting but it seems he likes to play pit boss on occasion. :) I wonder if Corzine paid off? One of the few times his money may have done some good.
That edition of Meet the Press was not an interview...it was a debate. Every single answer that the VP provided was met with "but..." from Russert. And then Russert provided the viewpoint of the NY Times, the Democrat National Committee, and the kook fringe left.
I don't know why Republicans go on these shows. And if they do appear, they ought to be pugnacious and combative with the partisan, dogged Democrat "interviewers."
At the close of the debate, host Tim Russert held up a Buffalo Bills jersey and wagered the two candidates that his team would beat the Denver Broncos Sunday. Allard, who brought a Broncos jersey, accepted the bet and Strickland invited Russert to watch the Broncos win the Super Bowl. Denver won Sunday's game, 28-23.
ROTFLMBO! Taterhead, now that fits!
Dang presidio! I shoulda watched Ted instead. He can put me to sleep in no time......oh well.:)
