You forgot to to mention that because of the crap with Gore wanting all the 'right' votes recounted in perpetuity, W didn't have the usual time to get his cabinet in chosen and in place *before* taking office, thereby hobbling him so far as being able to hit the ground running, as it were.
That's something else the Dims can be "proud" of.
Their [usual] whiny-assed obstructionism *probably* contributed heavily to what happened even more than we imagine.
