     Fellow BootMurthaites,

     There comes a time in most political campaigns when ambition outstrips means, and we at Vets for the Truth are at such a point right now.
     It might be useful to lay out for you to see just what we have going on at the moment:

     Operation Street Corner (www.operationstreetcorner.com)
                          Leaflet drops in parking lots
                          Displays in public places
                          Acquisition of placards, billboards, leaflets, etc.
             Salaries of two full-time area directors
                          Purchase of tents, signage, clamps, etc.
                         Vehicle expenses

     Boot Murtha Rally
               Funding speaker travel and lodging
               Hiring entertainment
               Renting War Memorial Arena
               Hiring security personnel
               Scores of miscellaneous expenses
               Payment of emcees (Quinn and Rose)

     Advertising
               Newspaper ads
               TV and radio spots
               Billboards (four at the moment)
               Leaflets
     Travel expenses of volunteers (me included!)

     Office rental in Johnstown
               Furniture
               Computer
               Copier
               Phone

     Folks, through your generosity we have taken in almost $24,000, and I am deeply grateful for that.  However, we need at least four times that much to execute a MINIMAL effort to redeploy John Murtha.  Think about it: Murtha has raised over $3 million for his campaign.  His opponent has raised just a bit over $400 thousand!  Add in our $24,000, and the anti-Murtha forces are still badly outspent.

     We are truly a bare-bones effort, having only two employees, both of whom are paid starvation wages.
     When we beat John Murtha, political pundits all over the country will be writing about how a bunch of political neophytes with very little money out-organized and out-worked the city slickers of “al-Jazeera Jack” Murtha’s campaign!  You’ll want to be a part of that effort, which will be unprecedented in American political history! 
     Imagine!  A few hundred District 12 folks and a few hundred concerned veterans and their supporters from across the nation sending John Murtha his marching orders home after 32 years of prancing across The Big Stage in Washington, DC.  No more Code Pink.  No more bad-mouthing his fellow Marines.  No more acting as stalking horse for John Kerry and the America-hating wing of the Democrat Party.
     Let’s send the sucker home, ladies and gentlemen.  Money being what it is, “the mother’s milk of politics,” we must have it, and we need it soon if we are to be totally effective in our somewhat quixotic crusade against this me-first politician.

Murtha just gives me the creeps when I watch him speak. He looks like a dirty old man. He talks so fast that a number of his syllables are meshed. It seems he wants to talk fast to get all his talking points out before he is asked a question. Murtha is truly the enemy within.

I'll go to the web site and see how I can help. I do not live in PA. Still, a lot of what he does as a representative of PA affects me. Why is it that the reps can affect the whole country but say they only answer to the people of their state?

Justa, I'll be taping the ABC 9-11 movie tonight.

My old VCR has a busted drive belt, so I'll use my little 13" TV-VCR combo that I watch from time to time on my back deck(Mostly for Pirates games).

I'm not sure how good the quality will be, so maybe somebody else should tape it for you too.
