Down Under Blue Dress? If Path to 911 was shown in Aussie country yesterday, was there any mention of the Monica Lewinsky incident? One of the top reasons Clinton Fans became upset with the show was that it claimed the reason he failed to act on various Presidential duties, was that he was too focused on trying to weasel out of the uproar created over the blue dress incident to concentrate on what really needed attention. <9> On Friday, September 09, 2006, Sean Hannity interviewed the sole writer of Path to 911, Cyrus Nowrasteh. Hannity asked Cyrus if the film was being edited at that very moment. Cyrus admitted it was but did not know exactly what. Anyone hear that interview? I am now wondering how much of Monica was mentioned in the Aussie version? Here is why: last year, Katie Couric, did a TV news special surrounding a brief study she initiated with teens about hooking up (oral sex). I think it was based on either six weeks, or sixty days, of detailed discussions with a selected group of teens in the Florida area. It mentioned that the Blue Dress incident with Bill Clinton did not particularly impact the sudden rise in popularity within the mind set of teens on this ever-growing problem. To be sure the news special garnished marketing-hype, around the same time, an article came out in People Magazine, that MSN said was a developed project between one of magazine staff writers and Couric. By coincidence, another journalist, was set to reveal results in her own survey/study on the same topic, which was published in her syndicated newspaper column and on her site of whom I am a huge fan. <9> In her research, teens clearly admitted that Bill Clinton enhanced the sudden explosion in teen behavior, and not only teens, but in kids as young as eleven. Also, Lynn had the guts to point a finger at Clinton and even printed an online response from a teen after the column had been printed. He describes the many flicks and toons Slick Willy got started. <9> This one comment, coming from a teen is particularly powerful because he is totally correct. If I were Clinton, there would be many things I would never want to be blamed about. One would be for making the Blue Dress scenario alive and well in eleven and twelve year olds, nor in any teen. OK, well, maybe he would. <9> Regardless, I am wondering if this will be one of the things we will not hear nor see too much about in America but yet it was in Aussie? If it was not shown there, then it won't fly here. My thought is that if Disney/ABC editors were editing it, as Cyrus mentioned, surely Clinton’s lawyers would not have overlooked a loophole that would allow an unedited version of the film to be shown in other countries. But, with all of the hoopla, maybe they did?
