A Canadian political party intends to fly the national flag upside down during its convention this weekend as a signal of distress and resistance against the integration of Canada with the United States and Mexico into a North American Union regional government.
Connie Fogal, the leader of the Canadian Action Party told WND "we are opposed to the plan to develop the Security and Prosperity Partnership into a EU-style North American Union government" which "amounts to treason and is a total violation of the constitutional rights of Canadian citizens."
Fogel explained that the party has decided to fly the Canadian Flag upside down during its convention "as a signal of our distress and resistance against the integration of Canada with the United States and Mexico."
Fogal argues the plan to form a North American Union is designed to avoid public scrutiny and to maintain "deniability" even as the legal structure for a new regional government is being put into place by the executive branches of the three
Cabinet-level executive branch participants of the SPP working groups in Canada are organized to work with counterparts in the U.S. and Mexico largely out of public view.
"The plan is to create the NAU incrementally," Fogal told WND, "because if any of the three governments were up front about their true intentions, the SPP plan would never fly."
The U.S. Department of Commerce SPP website contains a link to the SPP counterparts in Mexico and Canada.
Fogel used strong language in expressing to WND the focus of the Canadian Action Party to bring the SPP and NAU to the attention of Canadians.
"The rapid integration of North America into one entity ruled by an unaccountable, unrepresented and unelected group cabal of administrative executive branch officials is treason pure and simple," she said.
The Canadian Action Party is recognized by Canadian federal elections officials as an official Canadian political party. In the 2006 federal election, the party fielded some 36 candidates but received only some .04% of the vote.
A video currently archived on YouTube.com records Connie Fogel's charge that the Canadian involvement in SPP and the movement to create the NAU constitutes treason.
'received only some .04% of the vote'
A real powerhouse political party.
Canada ping.
Please send me a FReepmail to get on or off this Canada ping list.
Just another tedious Commie b*tch placemarker.
Exactly. Nothing to see here ... move along to more important issues.
The CAP received more votes in races they contested, but generally less than 0.5%. They are nationalist, isolationist, populist, against free-trade, and-US and anti-Israeli. For example, they oppose "US-Israeli aggression in Lebanon."
Their founder was a former Liberal defense minister, and a defeated candidate for head of the Liberal Party, and also later for head of the Progressive Conservative Party (Tories). The CAP was unsuccessful in getting a merger with the New Democratic Party (NDP), which understandingly refused to change its name to accommodate such a small splinter group.
The main difficulty for the CAP is that most of their stands are already standard fare offered by the NDP, which is also anti-NAFTA, anti-defense, anti-US, anti-free trade, and is called by some of my Canadian friends "the communists." They might better be called fascist, except that historical fascists were more respectable.
The NDP gets many more votes than it should, which shows that something is seriously wrong behind the veneer of general Canadian likeableness.
Yes! CUESPOOKYMUSIC is one of the keywords!
not so quick
who is this idiot who lived under the dew line??
who is this idiot who lived under the US defense umbrella??
who is this idiot who overlooks the benefits socio-economic-political that the big neighbor to the south has given??
If it wasn't for the US right next door as a trading partner, Canada would be another argentina
those who thought up the dew line had something in mind which by the way is still out there
don't be such a flake
The US represents the largest global market and canadians have had direct access to that market. If the US was not right next door, clearly the benefit would not be there. I think they also equate this with prosperity
*shudder*
being the upstanding canadian that you are, why don't you think of repaying the US the $MILLION$ the Canadaian military saved by Canadians living under their protective care? Accordingly you used this money to create extreme social programs unparralleled so you could be the darling of the socialist world.
AND the US does not economically depend on Canada, you see the state of califorina's economy exceeds Canaduhs. AND thats just one state.
For this reason, there are loads of wonderful products stateside which do not want the additional cost of french/english labeling which do not make it onto Canaduh. Canada is a marginal market relative to some of the biggies stateside. So don't pump yurr self worth.
Do not overestimate your worth
Wow, each post dopier than the last..
I gotta admit I'm stumped to respond to such ignorance and sheer stupidity?
BTW, I've spent a lot of time in the U.S. - and am not aware of any products made in the U.S. that hasn't made it to this side of the border - clue me in to what you are referring to.. We buy more U.S. goods than the rest of the world combined..
That said, the vast majority of Canadians agree that we prefer Americans as our neighbours than anyone else and I think you guys are equally fortunate to have us as neighbours.
But that's not to say that there aren't individual arseholes (like you) on both sides of the border.
Soon as we stop laughing you can pay us for cleaning up your share of the pollution the DEW line caused , which apparently, according to your hubris is now all your country's doing. In the 1990's we did settle 100 million in credits toward military purchases from the US , whip-t -doo! , but it seems you owe us a hell of a lot more than 100 million . Start at the $300 million Canadians have already paid to clean up what is now , according to you , your mess . As for your wonderful umbrella why don't you tell us all about Bomarc , it's nuclear capabilities and it's 400 mile range. And explain just exactly where , in defence of Canada , they were going to detonate..All 56 of them .
Do not overestimate your worth
Sir, Do not over estimate yours.
fool, presumptive fool, norad was a joint project, founded in mutual brotherly need.
it seems your brotherly love has failed as seemingly you suffer the virulent anti american sentiments founded in leftist philosopy.
I would recommend that it make more sense that one partonize the leader of the G8 as it is they who have given you your ability to have employment, a high standard of living and your suv. You have enjoyed American spinoffs. It is tough to argue with success and what works. Sure there are occasional screw ups and messes that have to be cleaned up, failings and misgivings, but they require openminded Cooperation. Clearly you have your issues and agenda which taints your reason.
I would like to point out, the need for a norad / dewline has not gone away... all that has happened is the nature of the threat has changed. The millions you quote are by far a huge spread from the Billions canada did not have to spend and could re-direct while under and continuing to be under their umbrella.
You ignorantly assaulted me and I would hate to think that all canadians are as narrow minded as you. Furthermore , your representations of canadian opinion might well be popular in some circles, yours, but not necessarily represenative of the rest of canada.

I never said anything about NORAD. Canada has paid her share of NORAD every year. Canada paid her share of cleaning up the old DEW . Originally the USA didn't want to pay anything . That's fact. That's not anti americanism. If you think it is you have a problem.
The RCAF had Bomarc because it was integrated with the USAF through NORAD . It had it at the request of the American government . If you think exploding nuclear weapons over Canada at the request of the US government is in the best interest of Canada you're not very bright . For the US it was the best of a bad situation . Saying so is not anti americanism.
As for the rest of your foolishness , your presumptuousness , grow up.
What ever you are , seemingly starved for some sort of recognition , you over estimate your worth. Perhaps you'll grow out of it. Perhaps not.
I do hope you do.
"If you think exploding nuclear weapons over Canada at the request of the US government is in the best interest of Canada you're not very bright"
sometimes under certain circumstances it is very bright. Given the bulk of canada lives within 100 mi of the US border, goven that the bulk of north of 60 is largely uninhabited,
given that son of star wars is alive....and has the ability to replace the original dew line concept.... its still very bright.
okay,
lets take your alternative. you are a part of the G8. You are a target of the jihadists, they hate the g8 for two reasons, success, being infidels and accordingly a target nearly identical to many in the US. Open game for a roque state. Lets sit with open skies, whooops T.O. is gone. Hmnnn thats bright!
pretend you were in T.O., would it not have made sense to have the warhead intercepted and blown up miles away from the intended target T.O.?
until you can create your own star wars defence system, you mr snowyman will still be dependant on someone who is smarter and knows what is better for freedom than ewe.
Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how he got from Bomarc to Star wars .
Must be that Alberta air. Or maybe his rubber boots are too tight.
