MEXICO CITY The bodies of five men who had been shot in the head were found Friday in the violent border city of Nuevo Laredo, across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas, police said.
A sixth man who survived the attack was listed in serious condition at a local hospital under police guard, State Police Director Leonel Lozano said in a news release.
Police, who received an anonymous tip, found the bodies early Friday along the highway leading from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey, the news release said. All the victims, between the ages of 18 and 25, had been shot after being forced to kneel on the ground.
Police had made no arrests.
So far this year, at least 148 people have been killed in the border city of about 300,000 people. The city has been caught in a war between drug gangs battling for lucrative routes into the United States.

If the people and government would take the time to do that to all their drug lords, that would be a great thing and a good start for Mexico to take back their country.
Los dos Laredos Ping!
Unlike al-qaida, these thugs prefer to kill in fives - these five highway bodies precede those five heads rolled like bowling balls across a barroom floor this weekend.
Lovely people, those drug dealers.
It's obviously the fault of illegal immigrants. :)
Seems we see something like this every week or so. These animals are no more civilized than your garden variety Islamo-facist.
I think they wacked five cops last week.
They are WAY off on the body count. It has to be over 200 at this point.
Right you are. These gang members already have visas to cross the border anytime they want. They brag about this.
Good thing we have a secure border and we don't have to worry about these thugs crossing over!
Could just as easily have been done by the police, trying to get back some on their own.
I hope the site wasn't located near La Cabana del Novias, one of my favorite eating sites on the highway on the outskirts of town.
Call me a cowboy, but I gotta wonder why ANYbody kneels down. If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna do my best to take somebody with me.
