I have to agree with what you all posted. As a former Air Force officer, I cannot believe the appalling comments I have seen by Freepers on this thread.
An officer disappears and is found saying she was kidnapped and beaten, and we are witness to the worst kind of slander against her.
DU wouldn't have treated this officer so badly.
I still cannot believe it.
You are so right. This is not the Runaway-Bride from Georgia. This is a U.S. Air Force Major, the only female ever to consecutively win the A.F. Marathon, and a newlywed who was one day prior to coming home, with a honeymoon and the Marine Corps Marathon to look forward to. Freepers or anyone on the FReeper boards who post disparaging remarks about our military ought to lose privileges here. This is simply wrong and should be unheard of here. Sometimes these days, I swear this place can be mistaken for DU.
The thing that is really sad, is DU in fact did not treat her this badly. I went to DU yesterday just to read threads about this incident. Most posters on DU ignored the story; most of those who chose to post expressed joy that she was found alive. There were some deleted posts, so I am sure some had clever remarks. The point is, DU did treat this Major better than FR did. I am amazed, and not in a good way.
