The New Criterion, a little magazine with a big punch, will begin a season-long celebration of its 25th year of publication this month. The silver anniversary will be marked by a special expanded September issue and a gala dinner and art auction on September 21.

The focus of The New Criterion is culture, not politics. But it does feature some very fine essays on conservative topics. For example, a deep analysis of media bias has appeared in its pages.

It is indeed one of the best art and culture journals around today. Some of our best conservative commentators (Steyn, Bowman, Derbyshire, Teachout) call it home.

Definitely. Well, cultural things do interest me. But out there in the world some vile, transgressive art or critical theory crap lurks around every cultural corner. In TNC, you might find yourself immersed in a stimulating account of religious philosophy reflected in Sanskrit poetry.
