ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ The State Liquor Authority is investigating whether alcohol was served to minors at a barbecue Eliot Spitzer's campaign for governor held for supporters at the state fair last week.

The agency received complaints that alcohol was served to minors at the Aug. 31 event, said authority spokesman Bill Crowley. The authority was also investigating a potential violation of a law prohibiting unlimited alcohol offerings at public events, he told the Syracuse Post-Standard.

"Spitzer, the Democratic state attorney general, and his campaign would not be liable for any violations. "

Of course not - he's a Clintonista Dem - they are never liable.

Looks like Spitzer will be shaking down the State Liquor Authority next.

My Magic 9-Ball says it will be something in the range of 20 to 50 million dollars in order for the S.L.A. (not to be confused with the Symbionese Liberation Army) to avoid extensive and expensive litigation with Spitzer's Office.

LOL! Maybe this is why I haven't been seeing as many of his "I sue large corperations! Vote for me and I'll chase those mean old corperations right out of NY!" commercials lately.

Anyone got a screen capture of the Democrat giving out free booze in the last episode of Deadwood? Or the Democrat giving out free booze in Gangs of New York.

Scumbags following the traditions of scumbags.

Ted Kennedy probably got his start this way. I'm sure ole Ted had many barbeques like this for his extended family. Teddy was "cool" enough to drink with the Kennedy kiddies, and many times preferred it. Reminds me of some of the 30 year olds that used to wander over to the frat houses when I went to college and brag about their party experiences later. Pathetic.
