(Political) Word of the Day - Jujitsu
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 09/07/2006 | Rush Limbaugh

Rush was pointing out today how all the dems were speaking about "Jujitsu".

RUSH: All right, we're going to go to the audio sound bites, as I mentioned. A montage. George "Stephy" Stephanopoulos, Tim Russert and David "Rodham" Gergen, all talking about the president's speech yesterday.

STEPHANOPOULOS: The administration took an admission and a mandate from the Supreme Court and turned it into a powerful political statement. That's some clever jujitsu there.

RUSSERT: Remember after the September 11th creation of the Department of Homeland Security -- a Democratic idea, the president opposed it. He then took it, jujitsu, and drove it and ran against Democrats in the midterm elections of 2002 successfully.

GERGEN: I think the political jujitsu here is to say, "Okay, now we've got these guys, we want to put them on trial, we need tough military tribunals to do that," and to push the Congress to do that.

RUSH: It just continues to boggle my mind! They've been caught at this, and yet they continue to do it. It shows their arrogance. Maybe they don't even know it. But where does this come from? It has to be they're sitting around together -- after work, at the bar, what have you -- and they're talking about it and somebody comes up with a word that they all like and since they're all on the same team, bam! That becomes what everybody says. There were more examples than this. This is just the three that we put together in the montage of the president's political "jujitsu."

For all you FReepers out there who don't know or realize, jujitsu is a DEFENSIVE martial art - not an offensive one. So even their usage is spun out of control.

F'n idiots.

I would love to tap into their email group and mail a bogus "word of the day" to them.

Any suggestions? (I like "$hitfaced")

Here's one who does (know the difference) as I remember vividly, when I was awarded my black belt.

I was stationed at Tachikawa AFB, (outside of Tokyo) Japan and it was in the winter of 1963.

I was transfered to Hawaii the following summer and didn't follow up my studies and never got beyond 1st Degree Black Belt--too many distractions. lol

However, you are correct in that this is an art in which the discipline is geared primarily towards self-defense, although I remember some defensive moves which resulted in blows being inflicted at the end of the move.

In my case, It was AIKIDO, 1st Degree black as well.

My Sensei was British SAS. He taught us some additional "interesting" moves and techniques.
