I encourage folks to read the cover article in the Sept. issue of The American Spectator about a possible Giuliani candidacy.
Ha! Bush's approval rating is higher than Hillary's support among Democrats.
Yuck. The first person on that list that appeals at all is Newt.
Rudy's smarter, tougher, and more articulate than all the rest combined.
McPain, Pro-life moderate conservative.
Some freepers may be asked to make a very hard choice..
NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT!
The media has finally determined who they will allow to be the next President Of The Ununited States.
The Real Rudy Giuliani:
Read more about Giuliani's liberal positions here and here.
- Pro-abortion - He even opposes banning partial birth murder.
- Anti-2nd Amendment - supports gun grabbing legislation including the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapon Ban
- Pro-big government - amassed unprecedented debt as Mayor of NYC
- Pro-radical gay agenda
- Supports gay marriage
- Attended every gay pride parade in NYC while mayor (even one in 1992 that included a NAMBLA contingent of pedophile activists)
- Has received many awards from radical gay groups
- Attends and supports many functions and fund-raisers held by radical gay organizations (even did a cross dressing act at Pride Agenda fund-raiser)- Pro-illegal immigration - said no one in New York City is going to assist the federal government with the enforcement of immigration law, sued Feds in 1997 to be able to ignore immigration law, lost in court, vowed to ignore law anyway
- Endorses liberal Democrat candidates over Republicans - endorsed liberal Dem Mario Cuomo over Republican George Pataki in NY Governor's race
- Ran for NYC Mayor in 1994 on Liberal Party ticket. Appointed Liberal Party State Chair to a Deputy Mayor position. Endorsed 3 times by the Liberal Party for his liberal views.
- Holds many other liberal views
- Republican In Name Only - opposes many major planks of the GOP Platform
It's a ridiculously small sample and it might be true if the rest of the country thought like New York City but, since they don't, I can't imagine this could possibly happen.
I'd respect Rudy more if he had run against Hillary in 2000 or 2006, but he didn't. He ducked both times. That's not presidential material. I'd still vote for him over McCain but I'd have to hold my nose and swallow some Maalox before doing it.
Why did they have to oversample Democrats? I know that someone mentioned about more people register as Democrats. However, I'm not sure how good that number to estimate voters' composition...
Geez. The hypothetical online FReeper polls have more relevence then this poll has. 432 respondants is nothing!
I still contend that social conservatives will not support Giulaini. And since social conservatives are the bulk of the GOP voting block in the primaries, they will prevail.
The question, in my mind, is will the social conservatives run an independent candidate for the general election if Rudy is nominated? If I understand them well, and I think I do, they will never allow a very pro-choice, pro-gay Republican be elected president.
I heard Rommey speak on Hannity's radio show yesterday. I was impressed with him with his manner of speaking. Does anyone know where he stands on the major issues, like abortion rights. I know Giuliani is reported to be in favor of abortion rights.

Well - this about the 1000th version of this made up story. As irrelevent as ever.
GOP has no good candidates.
Romney is the only hope.
Tancredo doesn't stand a chance, so forget him.
Rudy is a flipping RINO if there ever was one.
I am amazed that anyone here would support Rudy.
